Hotel was nice, clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed one night on our way to Las Vegas. Rooms were large and clean. Booked last minute and didn't have a problem getting the room type we wanted.

Our family was among the thousands displaced due to the wildfires at Yosemite. We were supposed to go there on a family vacation but had to switch plans on very little notice. We chose this hotel because of its location relatively close to Sequoia National Park. They found us two rooms adjacent to each other and after spending several nights in a cabin these rooms were indeed luxurious. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The foldout sofa bed came in very handy with two children. We also appreciated the refrigerator and microwave in our rooms and the nice breakfast. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and supplied extra towels, etc. Breakfast was very pleasant and I loved the hot oatmeal. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the cold filtered water that was always available. Even though the hotel was at maximum capacity due to lots of people changing their plans because of the wildfires, the staff was patient and did their best to satisfy their guests. I would especially recommend for families with young children.

Room Tip: I had a room designed for the handicapped because that was all that was available. It's good for both disabled and abled.

Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding your stay. I have printed out your review and look forward to sharing it with them. They all work so hard! I personally feel blessed to have a staff that cares for this hotel like it is their own and treats the guests like friends and family! We hope you chose to stay with again should your travels bring you back to Visalia. We have a full renovation starting in Sept and would be excited to hear what you think! Safe travels to you and your loved ones!

You know those hotels where you don't want to take off your shoes in the room? This is one of those. We couldn't be too picky because we had to change our vacation plans away from Yosemite (due to Ferguson Fire), and switch to Sequoia National Park. All places near the park were either booked or didn't have air conditioning. With 100+ degree weather, you need air conditioning. The check in was smooth enough but the room was a pit. I would have switched if we could but they were fully booked. The pull out sofa bed was not comfortable at all for our teenage son. I tried to also ask for a rollaway bed, but they said it was a fire hazard. I don't believe that because the rollaway would have been less intrusive than the pull out sofa. The room also smelled horrible. Like wet dog. It seems like it is because a window a/c unit and it was really hot outside. Or maybe there was a wet dog here before us. Who knows? I chose this hotel for the swimming pool and hot tub. The swimming pool was alright, but not heated, so it was pretty chilly. The hot tub didn't work and it was like a science experiment gone wrong. Don't go in there. Oh and it was cold. The breakfast was good. Enough seating and didn't seem to get very busy. It's about a 45 minute drive to Sequoia NP, but it is an easy and enjoyable drive. There is a gas station and Pizza Hut nearby. Also, they appear to offer a laundry service, but no price list in the room. Asked downstairs and they said it was in the room. I said, no, it isn't so please have one sent up to the room. We are checking out today after 3 days and still no price list. There are fluff and fold places nearby that charge $1.50/lb and are easier to deal with.

Room Tip: If you want a good room, don't stay here.

Hello, we were very concerned about your perception of your stay. I have a staff that has been with us for years and they are generally very good at making our rooms shine! After reading your long list of issues my assistant and I immediately went to your room. We didn't find any odor or carpet issues, but we had our maintenance person clean the carpet and a/c just in case. The air quality has been extremely bad due to all the forest fires, not to mention this is a valley of dairies so that an extra special gift most tourists don't expect while traveling to California. We apologize that your son found the pull out couch uncomfortable. They are pull out couches in the truest sense. We checked the pool and found the temp to be 83 degrees which is Marriott standard and found the ph levels in both pool and spa to be in the normal range. The jets however are currently non-working, parts are on order. I'm sorry we didn't seem to be a good fit for you. We have a full remodel that should be ending sometime in Nov. Perhaps you can give us another try.
Regards,

Visiting an ill friend brought us to Visalia. We wanted to stay at a hotel nearest our friend's home. Fairfield Inn offered us that opportunity. We are Marriott members and so we were provided with a very comfortable room located on the 3rd floor. The location is adjacent to on and off ramps to a highway. Although it was not too far from the hotel, we didn't hear any road noises. The hotel is due to receive remodeling as it is in dire need. Overall it was good.

Room Tip: Third floor not facing the freeway.

A recent stay at this hotel afforded us the opportunity to visit friends and family in the area. We found the hotel to be exactly what we wanted and needed. It is located close to the freeway on and off ramp to Highway 198. Yet, it was quiet. Several restaurants are within a walking distance from the hotel. We were advised by the hotel management it will be undergoing renovation, which is just what is needed. I will most definitely return.
