First of all----we love Bar-be-que and have tried it in many cities--often disappointed with the results. On our wine tasting trip to Temecula, we drove past Lucille's and our first thought was--too big--chain restaurant---mass produced barbecue!!
But we were so wrong...
Lucille's is a lovely large restaurant with a big dining room and fun spacious New Orlean's Sports bar, which we settled into..
Surrounded by juke box rock and roll music and a lively crowd, we ordered the Baby Back Ribs and Burnt Ends of Brisket.
Home made biscuit with cinammon butter set the tone---delish.
The burnt ends were moist with crispy edges--exactly as they
are supposed to be, and the Baby Backs were fall of the bone perfect with a wonderful dry rub. Lucille's sauces come in 3 levels of heat and can be ordered on the side, if you like to add yourself. Sides of loaded baked potatoes, and corn on the cob were fresh and tasty. And the servers are willing to do what it takes to make your eating experience great.
There are a lot of other entree besides bar-be due and we returned the next day for a sumptuous lunch of barbecue sandwiches and sweet potato fries. Need I say more----am
running every day to undo those delicious calories?!.
Fun environment, great service and fab food----what's not to like?

Are you typically paying $5 dollars for a lemonade? How about for an Arnold Palmer? You will if you go to Lucille's.

My wife had a BBQ chicken salad and I had a turkey burger. We paid $40 dollars for lunch. Plus a tip on top of that. I don't usually pay much attention to lunch prices but $40 dollars for a sandwich, salad and two drinks caught my attention. How about you? What do you expect to pay for lunch?

If this seems pricey to you I would recommend you go somewhere else for lunch. It wasn't busy today so perhaps I'm not the only person noticing Lucille's pricing.

That said, my wife liked her BBQ chicken salad.

I hadn't been to a Lucille's in several years, but was in the mood for bbq so we tried it. This place is always busy so they must be doing something right. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Service was very good and the waiter made some suggestions.

We stopped by and had lunch here 04/28. Where to begin. The interior is done in a late 60's early 70's motif with carpeting on the floor. The carpeting was very dirty and stained. Even where there was tile under the tables the floors were dirty. The hostess seated us rapidly; waitress came and took our drink order right away. When the drinks arrived, we ordered. Food was delivered in a timely manner. We both had the Lucille's Original Pulled Pork Sandwich. Until BBQ sauce was added to the sandwich they were very dry. The soft potato bun was very good. The water comes in a large mason jar with no handle. I don't know if there are alternatives to this for people with small hands or are arthritic. With 2 pork sandwiches, 1 watermelon margarita plus tax and tip $42.43 for a couple. Sandwiches were $12.49 each and the margarita was $8.75.
