I really do not like writing a negative review. However my experience at La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham Temecula requires it. We stayed there in mid October and was sorely disappointed with every aspect of the experience. To start with I had called 3 separate times over a month before the check in date to request a ground floor room as we had a dog. I was told they would put in the request, but when we arrived the front desk staff said they had no request in the computer. The front staff said they had no ground floor rooms. They said this happens often, that requests from central reservations do not get transmitted to the individual hotel as if that makes it ok. In addition the front staff was uncaring and dismissive. The next problem was the included breakfast was shut down due to covid. It is fine that the breakfast was closed for safety reasons, but it should have been noted on their website and the rates should then be adjusted accordingly. I might have chosen another facility if I had that information. Eventually after arguing with the front desk they refunded the breakfast amount. I should not have to argue with the staff about their mismanagement. When we did get to our room it was extremely disappointing with regard to cleanliness and repair. There were stains on the chairs that were not cleaned up and the toilet paper holder was broken leaving no place for the roll other than on the counter and the shower did not work well. Soundproofing was pretty non existent as you could here every conversation in the hall, every door opening and closing and the freeway off ramp noise out of our window. When we left for the morning I saw the maid in the hall and she asked which room we were in and I told her and she said she would go clean the room. We even had hung the sign on the door saying please clean room. As you might expect, no cleaning occurred, no new towels and again when reported to the front desk it was responded to with no interest whatsoever.
We were there for a dog show so there were many dogs staying there. The dog bathroom area was disgusting with overflowing receptacles leaving nowhere to put there excrement. There was no light on the area so at night it was a very hyI really do not like writing a negative review. However my experience at La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham Temecula requires it. We were there for a dog show so there were many dogs staying there. The dog bathroom area was disgusting with overflowing receptacles leaving nowhere to put there excrement. There was no light on the area so at night it was a very hygienically dangerous place to walk around. I reported it to the front desk and you can guess the response. The overflowing waste receptacles were never emptied during our stay.
Lastly the hotel is the parking lot behind a run down strip mall and the hotel itself is very overdue for a total refurbishing. To top it off it was not inexpensive, $500 for a Friday and Saturday stay for a single room with two queen beds. Needless to say, I would never stay there again and counsel others not to either.

Judging bry previous responses from management their will be a generic response promising to look into the problems and thanking me for my concerns, but it is clear what that is worth.
