This wine and tapas bar in downtown 'T' is something you would expect to find in the higher end beach communities. The server was very attentive and did her very best to recommend a wine that I might try, different than my 'usual go to's'. Ultimately I did choose a Shiraz, which, for a full pour cost me $16.00. Our food was very nice, well prepared and attractive to the eye as well as the taste. It was a Christmas vacation treat.

We were staying at Rose Garden Estate bed and breakfast and the owner said this was a great place to have a nice variety of wines to sample-they also had many delicious little snacks to eat. It was a cute yet laid-back place to hang out.

After a long day business trip, my cousin and I decided to have a quick bite to eat traveling from Bakersfield to the Owens Valley. She "Yelped" restaurants, and this place sounded intriguing and we were perplexed that there was a wine establishment in Tehachapi. So, curiosity and a bit of chance led us here. A treasure in deed.

First of all, we were greeted by the employees with genuine hospitality. We were given the option of sitting at the bar or in the attractive lounge area, as there was an event taking over part of the establishment. We sat in the comfortable lounge with a sturdy seat and cozy pillows.

Our waitress was very attentive to our needs, and we didn't know what they were as we were in awe of the atmosphere; warm and inviting with a wall of wine bottles reflecting the soft lighting. We were looking for dry and red, and she brought us two samples to try. We wanted to be certain due to the price, and she brought us two more tastings. She had an educated response to our questions about the wine we chose.

She continued to check on us, and suggested we try some of her favorite tapas. The crusted ahi was seared to melt in your mouth, and the cheese tray had a unique blend of palette pleasing chunks of goodness.
As we sat and conversed, everyone who walked through the door acknowledged us with greetings, and other staff, including the chef, obliged us with their jovial presence. A "regular" sat down with us and chatted about this place. Hyye said, "The food was great, and it's a place for professionals to come and gather". Regardless, anyone who steps through this door will pay a higher price for the food and wine, but you can't pay for this pleasurable hospitality.

So, if you're willing to enjoy a great bottle of wine and food, come share this atmospheric gem in Tehachapi. You never know who'll stop by to chat and share your time with others who are enjoying this place. We'll be back.

I love coming here with friends to unwind with a good glass of wine. Their wine selection always changes, so it's fun to try different types without committing to an entire bottle. This place has a nice, quaint environment without loud music or pretentiousness. The tapas are all good (I probably have tried most of them) and the staff has always been courteous and attentive -- we've when we've had a group of 10+ people show up.

I am actually surprised at the negative reviews on here (especially coming from the person who gives Del Taco a rave review). I have been here 10+ times and never had a bad experience with either the staff or the food like some others have complained about. Maybe they were having an off day? Speaking to a manager would have probably solved the issue.

Travelers staying in Tehachapi & looking for good place for dinner. Atmosphere was great, menu looked good, but server NEVER returned to our table. She walked past our table half a dozen times after giving us menus but never once glanced at us after that. 20-30 mts later we walked out. We went to Jake's & had a great server & delicious dinner. When we left veritas, we walked past two employees & neither looked in our direction‼️
