Everything is great except parking if you have a guest. Location right in front of the lake and cleanliness was great and staff as well. Very accommodating.
I highly recommend this place for everybody.

This is a 1930's era motel that has been extensively updated. You drive up and park inches from your room door. The view from your room is of dozens of cars in a cramped parking lot. They have an added new building at the lake end. Try for that building. Red Wolf is neither spectacular or high-end. However, it is on the lake, has a pool overlooking the lake, and is kept up very well. It's very clean, everything works, and service is very good. It lacks air conditioning and that is a strong negative. The other strong negative is the kids - this property appears to cater to mostly families with young children. Swim-diapers in the pool and hot-tubs are not for me. And the kids are in your face since it is such a small property.

We booked through Hotel Tonight for a last minute Saturday night stay (we live in the Bay Area) and - WOW! Expectations were far exceeded. The staff was wonderful - so helpful and friendly and the amenities were TOP NOTCH. We especially loved the free kayaks - in fact, we loved them so much that we took them out twice. The pool was beautiful - overlooks the lake and the hot tub was phenomenal as well. We also loved all the seating that was available overlooking the lake - a really nice place to have a glass of wine in the evenings and relax. The hammock was wonderful, too! The lodge is walking distance to the heart of Kings Beach dining which was so nice (traffic was a bit crazy off of 28 so we loved not having to move our car!!) Our stay was so wonderful we were sad it was only for one night - we will definitely be back here. This lodge actually completely changed our perception of North Lake Tahoe - we now like it better than South! Highly recommend for a lovely time away at the lake. Location, amenities and overall vibe can't be beat. I truly felt I was at a resort.

Here we are again, having to say goodbye after 2 beautiful weeks here! We had a studio the first week and a 1 BR the second week! We don't mind the Murphy bed in the studio, but love the 1 BR! The weather was gorgeous and we sat alot by the pool and gazed out at the beautiful lake and mountains! We have lifelong friends that we met here 19 years ago! We coordinate our two weeks every year! What joy!
Being a smaller resort (27 units), we know the managers, employees, etc! Trini, head of maintenance, does pancake (blueberries, chocolate chips or plain) breakfast for all every Monday and BBQ on Wednesdays, complete with his original recipe for guacamole! Yumm!
One of our housekeepers. Elizabeth, made a special towel origami dog for our 7-year/old granddaughter. She even brought it over to our 1 BR when we changed units last Sunday!
We have never ever exchanged our two weeks here at Red Wolf in the 19 years we have been owners! It is definitely our home away from home! We are truly blessed!

The view from the room or from the pool or from the lake shore are beautiful during the May. There were many birds fly around. Since the property has less than 30 rooms so it is not crowded during the day, it is very peaceful. The facility is maintained in a very good condition. The front desk staff is very helpful. We have not been here for 6 years, it is about the time to come more often.
