The best part about staying at Granlibakken is the breakfast that comes with the room reservation. It's a great spread of hot and cold items - cheese omelettes, cheese blitzes, bacon, sausage, potatoes, muffins, croissants, bagels, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot oatmeal, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, variety of juices. Definitely a great breakfast to give you plenty of energy for a hard day of skiing!

In general this was a nice place with helpful staff and a good meal service for a conference venue. The location is great, and the place has its own snow hill. However, the townhouse we stayed in was not up-to-scratch.
The rooms were a bit outdated and in need of improvements: the lighting was far too dim, almost useless; the bathrooms were old style with minimal flow in the shower. I had to bend over to use the shower as the shower head was far too low.
The floor for upstairs was very creaky, which meant that I was continually woken by the others sharing my apartment.
The power points were loose in the wall in many instances and we were a little fearful leaving our devices to charge in some of them.

Outstanding hospitality, excellent accommodations, and great food at a year round, full-service resort in its a little valley with its own ski hill and within walking distance of town. Whether in winter, summer, or shoulder seasons, Granlibakken is our favorite by far.

This review is for the snow play/ski area only. We took the 3 and 7 year old boys here for beginner ski lessons and sledding. Ski instructor (Patrick) was great, prompt, friendly, and patient with my son (even after he smashed into the SLOW sign and cried for 5 minutes , he was unharmed). The process was painless, and not very busy, as it was midweek. There's only 1 ski run, so it's really mostly a learning facility, or just for light skiing. There's are 2 sledding runs. 1 for small kids, and the other for all ages, which is perfect, super fun. Save some $, get your beginner lessons here, spend an easy half day in this secluded, beautiful, convenient location. You'll be happy!

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed skiing and sledding with your family here at Granlibakken Tahoe, Brian. Our ski hill is perfect for beginners, with affordable rates and with fewer crowds than the larger ski areas. We always like to hear when one of our staff members goes above and beyond for a customer, and we are glad to hear that Patrick was so patient with your son. Thank you again for taking the time to review your experience, and we hope that you will be back again soon!

Our room was very cute and updated--a newly renovated studio in the main lodge. It was quiet and the beds were very comfortable (including the sofa bed) so we slept well. The studio has a living area with fireplace, dining table, 2 beds, and a full kitchen as well as an outdoor seating area. Breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay here again.

The sledding hill is perfect for kids. We had a great ski lesson with Armando.

Room tip: We stayed in 10A. It was perfect and I'd stay there again.
