We decided to visit Crossings after a concert at the Library. Before we walked over we called to confirm that we would be able to sit indoors on the first floor since the previous time we had to climb upstairs with my 89 year old mother who barely made it. When we arrived we were told all the indoor tables were reserved so we could sit out side. So our only choice was to sit outside. The white table clothes were dirty from the overhead trees and we had to brush them off ourselves. REALLY...no set ups and we (as well as 2 other groups) had to brush off their own tablecloths. The waitress was friendly but informed us that there were no busboys tonight so she had to get all the water, set-ups, food & drinks without help. There is a sign outside that says Happy hour 5-9 pm but apparently that only pertains to people who sit at the bar. REALLY?
It took 15 minutes to get our drinks & 20 minutes for bread (which we had to remind her to bring. The patio table was literally 6-8 feet from the Metro trains which whizzed by every 10 minutes (both east & west trains). Not conducive to conversing. I have to say the oysters Rockefeller were great although the waitress did not know what kind they were, I had a wonderful beet/curry dish, the burger was unremarkable with tons of fries and the salmon with sea beans tasty. When my mother complained about the seating and lack of service, the gentleman she spoke with was apologetic. We wont be back.
