Great location close to both Sonoma Vineyards and the Napa Valley. Large rooms, big comfy. Bed, recliner chairs and a gas fire place. This would be the best hotel we have stayed at with all the comforts of home. They even have real crockery coffee mugs instead of cardboard like most USA hotels. Would recommend this hotel.

El Pueblo mostly felt like an old-fashioned motel that had made some updates. Anyplace that still uses huge comforters needs to modernize at least that part. The front desk was excellent: very friendly every day but we didn't make any actual demands. I agree with other reviews about the weird noise "promise" as it's really up to any proper establishment to manage that issue. I admit that it sounded like a herd of cattle any time a guest was wheeling a suitcase on the upper floor but we didn't experience any other excessive noise except for the occasional police sirens - it's on a main drag, after all. Our room was "accessible" but even though we didn't need that, it didn't truly meet the true test for someone in that situation. The bed was comfortable and the fireplace worked nicely to warm things up. Location isn't terrible but it's definitely not in the heart of things. Breakfast was just average except the baked goods which were from local establishments (we tried a few and they were good). The grounds and pool area were beautiful. Overall a decent place to stay unless you want a fully modernized experience right in the main Sonoma area.

The asking price for a room was $189, but with a triple "A" or AARP card they brought it down to $159. The room was on the second of 2 floors, overlooking these beautiful trees and ferns, flowers and fountains. At the end of the path was a good size swimming pool and spa, surrounded by more huge trees and a big lawn with small lights hanging overhead for nice evenings by the pool. The free breakfast in the morning was pleasant, with your usual cereals, bagels, keesh etc. in a little cafe next to the main lobby. The people who worked the were very nice and helpful.

Room tip: "Rooms on the south side are quieter, second floor.

Stayed here 3.5yrs ago and not changed much, think they have put more effort into the grounds but unsure why they still have turquoise doors! Good breakfast included with usual stuff, local pastries, bagels, fruit, juices etc, coffee at this not as good as the stuff included in the room. Front desk really helpful; sorting bike hire, places to see etc. It is a walk into town but only about 20mins, our tip is walk in via the road behind (Spain) as it's quieter. Pool and hot tub nice. Room kept clean but a bit dark. Would like water included but good ice and water machine by pool. Plenty of free parking. Our room was in good condition and they seemed to be updating/decorating others

Although older and somewhat dated the property was clean and quiet. It is a long walking distance from downtown Sonoma. We were greeted with a wine tasting and breakfast the next day was more than adequate. The grounds are well manicured and the pool is inviting. We had a lower floor room. It was noisy when people arrived to ty upstairs.

Room tip: Get a room upstairs.
