We were traveling with 44 high school students and 7 chaperones on a history/literature/science field trip in northern California. I worked with hotel staff to book the rooms in advance and they were very able to meet all of our needs. On check-in all keys for all rooms were ready to go. Rooms were clean and spacious, and we were all grouped in rooms relatively close to each other so as to ease management of students. The hotel provides easy access to many of our destinations, including Monterey, Salinas, and Carmel. Staff were friendly and eager to be of service, and each of our rooms had a small, custom-made welcome gift, which was a nice touch. The only downside of the facility is that all rooms open to the outside, which is not always ideal when managing high schoolers. However, this was not an issue for our group.

Dear Jeff S,
It was our pleasure to have you and your group stay with us and I hope you enjoyed your trip to our beautiful city of Monterey. We are very pleased to see that you and the group enjoyed your stay with us and our staff was there for all your needs and made sure that your check in process was made fast and easy as we know that when you are travelling in group it could get little hard to manage things and keeping that in mind we made sure that everything is ready for the group We hope we see you and group again next year again.

Thank you,

Roomy standard rooms. Microwave, refrigerator and HBO for the kids. Lots of attractions nearby, and the hotel is easy to get to. Breakfast is typical Holiday Inn. There's an elevator as well as stairs.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the hotel are quieter, and look out over the pool. Nice hot tub.

Updated lobby gave high hopes for our room.
Dark , dismal and cramped, in dire need of and update and refurbish
Elevator areas was scruffy and dirty , there were lots of flies circling around and also on the external corridor on floor one
A loud spaspodic beeping sound outside our room was also highly annoying
Stay else where or drive on
I am a spire member with IHG and sadly used points for our 2 night stay or we would have checked out

Room Tip: High floor faving away from the highway

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.
This hotel has a nice breakfast that includes hot items like eggs, omelettes, and so on. It ends at 9:30 though, so no long naps if you want to have breakfast there. Really nice service, people who work there are wonderful. I had to talk to laundry people since my son has allergies, and they were more than helpful. Our toilet got plugged up, and maintenance guy showed up in 30 min. Very happy with the way we were treated. There are comfy beds and overall clean rooms with TV, refrigerator, Kureg coffee maker (although there is always fresh coffee in the breakfast area with chocolate chip cookies). Great place to crash. There is some type of lake near by with pathways, so one day we took a lovely walk after breakfast. To the delight of all, In-and -out was in the walkable distance and we had one meal over there when we didn't feel like driving.
The building is dated a bit, also it's more like a motel. There is no common hallway, you exit straight on the balcony from your room. We were on the top floor and it was always cold and windy once you step out from your room. For the money considered, I feel it was a fair deal. I don't think the hotel would be most memorable touch of the trip, but you get what you pay for. So, not bad, but could be better ;-)
PS: it was very convenient to us to have Tesla charging station less than a mile away, so we could recharge our car.

This property is really nothing special, just a huge Holiday Inn Express that is conveniently located, and a bit more reasonably priced than the one on Cannery Row. We stayed on the third floor above the pool. Since the weather was chilly every day we were there, noise from the pool was not an issue. The room was a bit small, but comfortable. Everything was clean. The breakfast area was huge, with your average Holiday Inn Express breakfast. Front desk staff were quite helpful, housekeeping staff were very nice. There are grocery stores nearby, with a short drive to Monterey and all its attractions. There is a walking path around a park and lake located behind the hotel. There were a few homeless people walking around by the lake, but that's normal for Monterey. We always felt safe while at the hotel.
