The hotel's location is excellent, a few blocks from the old downtown of Santa Rosa. It's an easy walk to shops and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and modern, including the bathroom. Bed was soft, perhaps a bit too soft. The hotel is near the railroad line, which didn't bother me, though it might bother a light sleeper. The outdoor whirlpool was nice and hot, though it was a bit on the small side for a hotel of this size.
There were a few minor glitches. Check-in was somewhat slow, since they were understaffed. The clerk on duty apologized (not his fault), but it shouldn't take so long to check in at 10 PM. When we got back from our tour at 4:30 PM on Saturday, our room hadn't been serviced yet (they were about to do so). The hair dryer broke between the two mornings of our stay (not sure how); again, they were apologetic, and it's not a huge deal. None of these are huge issues, but they dropped the rating from 5 to 4.
Overall, we'd definitely stay again—the location and comfortable room are definitely worth it.More
