“The Modern Tasting Room”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 January 2012

This is truly an example of the Modern Tasting Room

Maybe I am just getting old but I remember when Tasting Rooms were a type of advertising for the winery. A thing that cost the winery a little money but they wanted to show you the quality of their wines and the quality of the people at the winery; so when you went home you would buy some of their wines.

This is not the purpose of the Modern Tasting Room. They don’t want to talk about the vintage, they don’t want to talk about the varietals, they don’t want to talk about wine. What they want to talk about is joining the Wine Club, purchasing wine by the case, selling bottles at inflated prices, buying a sweat shirt ..................... Anything that will get your money and get it now. They sound more like aluminum siding or encyclopedia salesmen than wine makers. It is not the same.

Which came first the chicken or the egg. I know in the old days lots of people came to visit Tasting Rooms for a free drunk and the wineries had to start charging for tasting but .....................

A lot of the romance has gone from a visit to the wine country!!!!!!!

Paradise Ridge is not a bad place it is just the way things are or have become. And if the new economic attitude of this tasting room is annoying, don’t go near Napa.

“Sunsets in the Summer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2012

They do sunsets in the summer on their beautiful balcony. You can buy wine by the glass inside and find a seat. You can bring a picnic too. The full moon nights are wonderful. The wine is always fantastic.

“Yummy wine!! Nice staff!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2011

We tried the wine at the separate tasting room because it was open till 6pm and closer to the other wineries we had just come from. The staff was awesome and so very nice. Really enjoyed chatting with a Mom and daughter who both worked there. We did stop by the winery itself to check it out and it was very pretty too. They do alot of private events, like weddings there.
