After eating Tacos right around the corner we came for some juice to this place and it was great. I loved the bottles they use so I have them at home in the other side of the world (NZ). Definitely the place to go for some fresh, delicious, juice.

Went here to get a little dessert and a drink. The sweets were all really good and made with fresh and organic ingredients. We got to try a free sample of a new coffee packed with superfoods that they were getting ready to offer. The coffee was actually very good and definitely a drink I would go back there to get.

Really liked this place and the goodies and drinks offered. Will be back again for more!

The juice was good but I wish there were better options for smoothies. There weren't options for smoothies made with fresh greens, only some pre made green powder. That was disappointing. The juices seemed fresh, but were already pre bottled, as opposed to being made in front of you.

Order your juice, and most times it is already prepared in a refrigerated bottle. The juice is fresh and tastes great; especially out of a bottle rather than plastic. The bottles have a deposit; which is refunded upon return. The choices are very healthy and taste great. Some juices will be provided in a to go cup as well. Remember to recycle the glass; it is good for the earth and your pocket. Street parking only...a few blocks away toward State Street is a pay parking lot.

The Juice is pretty good, the prices are high for what you get and it is pre packaged. Fresh juice is better for you and would like to see them offering fresh to its local clients, but overall was good.

Tammy,
Thanks for coming by and I am happy to hear you liked our juices. I would like to provide you with some information that might make you change your mind about what you wrote here in this review.

-RAW vs. PASTEURIZED-
Our team gets up EVERY MORNING at 3:30am to make our cold-pressed 100% organic juice. Most cold-pressed juice shops use HPP (high pressure pasteurization) and do not use organic, or bottle in glass. They do this to extend shelf life up to 20 days, and in return you are purchasing an expensive bottle of nutrition-less (life-less) sugar water; this is purely a business decision that doe not have the customer in mind. Juice Ranch on the other hand has made it our mission to make sure that our juices are the freshest cold-pressed juice in the market. We take the utmost pride in our process because our juice is medicinal.

-COST OF ORGANIC-
Since we approach our process as food as medicine we only use organic which has a high premium to the customer and an extremely high premium to us, the business owners. The margin on a beer/food is between 65-85% and the margin on OUR juice is 25% (coffee has a similar ratio).

This is a model that I desperately wish we could change, but at $10 a juice our customers are already frustrated with that high price mostly due to a lack of information of what it costs us to provide our product and a misdiagnosed prioritization of health-to-buzz ratio.

(SIDENOTE - Many people go out at night and spend an average of $40-$60 on alcohol alone without blinking an eye. When they wake up and come to they instinctively know their body is lacking nutrients. It is odd, but it is at this moment when the mind decides to play detective on their bank account and the "so-called" nutrient dense cold-pressed juice. Health and wellness seem to be the tortoise behind the hare in this analogy.)

-CENTRIFUGAL JUICE vs. COLD PRESSED-
If you want juice made right in front of your eyes you would most likely be working with a centrifugal juicer, which we don't use or recommend. The higher RPM's of the centrifugal juicers causes more heat and more oxidation to the food being juiced, which decreases the nutrients in the juice. We are all aware these days that cooking kills essential vitamins and enzymes in food.

Our cold press machine provides a more effective crushing action than a centrifugal juicer, creating less heat resulting in less damage to the food being crushed. This process of crushing and squeezing extracts more juice and also has less heat build up than from the high speed at which centrifugal juicers work, which destroys the enzymes and other vital nutrients. Because cold pressed juicers operate at a lower speed they also tend to produce less heat. In turn, our enzymes are preserved for a fresh and 'live' tasting juice.

I wish things were different for us and subsides were granted to business who choose only organic, but in this current climate we are stuck having to write responses like this one. I consciously take the time to explain our situation as I believe this information might help.

Sincerely,
Scott Walker
