This was my far my favorite restaurant experience in Santa Barbara. The space is nothing to be impressed by, but the food was amazing! Great low prices. Authentic, handmade tortillas cooked while you wait. Everything was so flavorful. Get two entrees to start for a typical meal size. One if you are a light eater or just want a snack. Get 3 if you are a hearty eater like I am.

Been here a few times growing up in the area and never ceases to amaze me. The super Rica Especial my favorite and a must try. This is my go to place when want some delicious Mexican food. Very popular so there's usually a wait especially during the weekends but very worth it!.

It may look a tad ramshackle but WOW, the food - OUTSTANDING. There was a queue to get in and I can see exactly why. Yummy. Don't miss this place if you are nearby.

Wonderful Mexican food, cooked fresh and consumed quickly - then lined up for more. Really fun to check this out (recommended online so thought we would walk from downtown, and we had a good appetite when we got there). Serves are not too big, so you can pick and chose a few items from the menu on the wall

When you can see them in the kitchen hand-pressing the corn tortillas, you know the food is going to be authentic and fresh!

We read online these were among Julia Childs’ favorite tacos, so had to check it out.

For a counter-service location, the menu is surprisingly large and diverse: close to two dozen varieties of tacos, enchiladas, tamales, quesadillas and more Mexican dishes. From the steak to pork to chicken, each was flavorful and tasted so fresh. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu as well, and don’t miss the guacamole! The salsa and sauce bar is superb as well.

Tip: the lunch lines can apparently get very long, one regular told us. We went for a late lunch off-hours and only had to wait in line a few minted to order.
