Description: The Pizza Turnaround - Oh, Yes We Did

Decided to order online from Domino's on Foothill Blvd. The website has lots of information and some excellent coupon deals, but is a bit complex and takes a while to place a simple order. We used a coupon deal: 2 medium one topping pizzas, cinna stix, parmesan bread bites and a 2 liter bottle of soda for $19.99. Placed the online order for a regular crust pepperoni pizza, a thin crust mushroom pizza, cinna stix, parmesan bites, and Regular Coke. Got a confirmation at the time of ordering. Went to the tracking button on the website, but when I clicked, got a message that there was no order associated with the phone number I had given them. Just then the phone rang. When I answered it I got to listen to a minute and a half of canned info on Domino's and then a live staff person picked up and asked how he could help. I told him that Domino's had called me, and he said that "the robot does that sometimes" and what was the name and phone number on the order. I told him, and he responded with, "the driver has picked it up and it should be to you shortly." Lo and behold, not 5 minutes later, the doorbell rang and our food was here...except he brought Diet Coke instead of Regular. When I called him on it, his response was, "My bad," but no offer to make it right. I asked him if he had a Regular Coke in his vehicle and he said no, but again, no offer to correct the mistake. With tax and a delivery charge, the $19.99 coupon price rose to $24.92 without a tip for the driver...who didn't deserve one...still a pretty good deal. However, the crust on the regular pepperoni pizza was not cooked through and the sauce was very bland, although there was plenty of cheese. The thin-crust mushroom pizza was cut into squares which I hate, not triangles like a pie, and the crust crumbled like saltines when you bit into it. Neither pie was up to the Domino's quality I have been used to in the past. The parmesan bites and cinna stix were great. I would rather have to wait a few more minutes and get the food right and the order correct than to get the "express" service we received this time.
