If you are used to Ramada around the world you are going to be very disappointed by this hotel. The suite we stay in the first night was really old fashioned and in desperate need of an upgrade. The suite was spacious and would comfortably sleep four but the only thing that looks remotely 21st century is the flat screen TV. The room had a fridge / kettle and microwave. The second night we moved to a standard two queen beds room, it was less old fashioned but still lots of room for improvement, the shower in the bathroom had no power and there was mould underneath the soap dish in the bathtub.
Cleaning is not high on the agenda either, nobody had cleaned under the bed in a long time. Also we had to ask to have a table cleaned for breakfast. On the first night we had to make the crib for our son, and I do not mean the bedding, I mean building the metal crib, which looked like something from an horror movie, it had a wooden board as a base.
Breakfast- There are a handful of tables so you just need to hope the hotel is not full or you might end up having your breakfast standing up. It was limited to bagels, waffles and pastry, and a couple of bananas.
I had a misunderstanding with reception and was not happy with the resolution offered, but won't dwell here as already filed a complaint with Ramada care.
Not sure how Ramada is choosing its properties in the USA, but this would not even qualify as a low budget 2 stars everywhere else.

Having said that, if, like us all you need is a place to sleep and intend to spend your time exploring the area this hotel is conveniently located near the motorway
exit. Other pluses are free parking, free wifi and a small outdoor pool, although when we were there the water was very murky.

This is not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, but it's certainly near the bottom of my list. However, since this was the site picked and paid for by my organization I typically don't stay at hotels in this price range, as this is really a motel (in terms of both cost and actual construction of the building)

Pros: Good location, short drive to both Cal Poly and downtown. Big open room.
Some aspects are clearly new, including the TVs and the doors and locks. I actually found the TV easier to use than many of the big chain hotel TVs I've used in the past. The Microwave and the Fridge appear new, but I didn't actually use either. The bed was old but seemed comfortable. Vanity lights seemed new as well and are quite bright.

Cons: I think the only thing the maid did was make my bed, take out the trash, and remove the hand towels that I used. I stayed for 3 nights, and each day one the washcloth I used was removed but not replaced. I don't think they cleaned anything, the shower curtain definitely has mold on it, and the mugs in my room were either sloppily washed by hand or had been sitting on a dusty shelf.
Many of the amenities show their age - all four lamps (no overhead light in the main room) are older ceramic and the controls on one seems to have been pulled out. The phone which I didn't try is hand-labelled with no instructions for calling besides a button labelled 911. The coffeemaker, while functional, also has to be at least 15 years old. The corporate picture of the pool also makes it appear much larger than it actually is, it's on the smaller end of what many people have in-ground in their backyard.

Overall, I would not chose to stay here again if I were paying for the trip, but I would not refuse to stay here if my organization chose to stay here during a conference again.
