Stayed for 2 nights in room 3. This room is in poor shape, and from what I saw looking around the motel outdoor public area it is no better than room 3.
This is an old motor inn motel with carports. From the street it may seem inviting but if one looks past the appearance of an old perhaps quaint place, one is struck by poor if any maintenance. The exterior color of the place is a burnished salmon color with a slate blue trim. A close look and you will see where some repairs were done that weren't painted, and the place is covered with dirt making the place appear darker than it should be. The blue trim is shot.
Room 3 has a/c which works and a micro perched on a small refer. The TV is cheap and the sound is awful. The room is small. The lighting is poor, which may be of some benefit as you may overlook how dirty the carpet is under your feet. The bathroom is awful. The tub shower is marred, the shower head is quite low, and it is a common old fashioned $2 unit. You don't want to look at the window, which I want to point out is an older metal framed unit and likely was not the original window in the place, because up you will see the on the window frame besides obvious dry rot, black mold. The shower curtain also had black mold. The bathroom door was dirty, and the baseboards were all beat up and had not been attended to in many years.
The gentleman who signed us into this room was certainly nice and accommodating, and his children enjoyed basketball in the parking area of the motel.
There was no breakfast, nor coffee in the room or in the tiny office. Quite fortunately there is a coffee place right next door. Just down at the corner is a really great casual place, Splash Cafe and Artisan Bakery. We did dinner there one night and breakfast one morning. The fish was excellent, and their bakery items are super.
A common description of this place is "good value" or "budget" or "cheap". It is none of those. We paid just over $70 for a room that wasn't worth half that price. There are other motels on the same street that are in the same price point and I recommend you go there if you want a room. This place was not clean, not cozy, and not quaint. It is nothing more than a run down, poorly maintained, worn out motel that happens to be in an excellent location.
