Great location for airport.
We love doubletree, this one is just a little dated.

Dear k_branTulsa_Okl…

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel. We understand these take time and we appreciate yours.

We are happy to see you enjoyed your stay with us while in San Jose. We are glad to see you were pleased with the location and the rest of our property.

We are sorry that you felt our property was a bit outdated. We have recognized this problem and are in the process of fixing it. We plan to go through a complete renovation in 2013 of our guestrooms and meeting rooms. As we wait for our plans to start we have been refreshing as many items as possible in our guestrooms, including; brand new 37’ flat screen HDTV’s, brand new “Sweet Dream” mattress’s, custom designed dressers, and additional amenities.

We hope you stay with us again in the rear future where we will not only we close to the airport, but have amazing guestrooms, in which you will never want to leave.

Sincerely,
Carrie McAllen

My husband and I stayed overnight at this hotel in January 2012, between flights from Atlanta to Honolulu. It was a rather frustrating experience. When we made reservation, the hotel did not tell us that we had to call to ask for a courtesy van to ick us up. So we assumed as at airports in LA and San Francisco, a van would be circulating to pick up the guests. At the pickup station, there was one courtesy phone but it did not have information about hotels. After waiting for a while in the chilly night air, we finally called the hotel that sent a van.
Upon arriving at the front desk, the staff was friendly and helpful, but there were no famous warm chocolate chip cookies, all the restaurants were closed, and she could only offer boxed salad. Room service had a short list, charging $7 for a bottole of beer. There was no refrigerator in the room and two bottles of water cost $2.50 each. Finally, when we tried to hook up with Internet, we discovered $13 is charged for just connecting. We should have realized "Internet access available" was not "complimentary Internet access," which is a standard in many American and Asian hotels. So we went to bed exhausted, hungry, and disconnected. We left early the next morning to catch a flight so had no opportunity to have breakfast, thus no comment.
The room was spacious and comfortable, no complaint there. And the closeness to the airport was great, in fact that was the main reason we selected this hotel in the first place. A good enough hotel exploiting its geographical advantage to the airport was my impression. It's also a convention hotel. The bar at the lobby was crowded and the noise level was deafening.

No one here cared. From the bell staff standing there with his hands in his pocket ("Do you want some help with that?") to the person who didn't run our credit card appropriately (which forced us to go back downstairs to run it again to order a movie) and the lack of empathy it was apparent we were putting people out to do their jobs. I'll never go back!

Dear Kjohns23,

Thank you for writing a review of our hotel. We understand these take time and we appreciate yours.

We are so sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time with us here in San Jose. It is heartbreaking to hear our staff did not treat you with the best of our ability. Our bellman should be enthusiastic and cheerful as they help you with your luggage and car. Also, our front staff should be more careful when charging our guests. I have sent your review to our Director of Front Desk and have each of our staff members re-trained on their positions and the Hilton values, which are very important to us.

We hope you stay with us again in the near future so we can show you how our staff is as helpful and friendly as they should be. We would love to turn your bad experience into an amazing memory.

Sincerely,
Carrie McAllen

The employees at this hotel are wonderful. They are friendly and helpful. The room we had was not in great shape; wallpaper coming off the wall, the heater is noisy and kept waking us up and the temperature wasn't consistent (hot, cold, all night long). The parking is $20!!! And the only free internet is in the lobby. Next time we will stay at a less expensive hotel and get free parking, free wireless in the room, and the room will be comparable. The best thing about this hotel, besides the employees, is how close it is to the airport.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 8th floor in the front part of the building. Our room was tired looking.

Dear 2mchfn,

Thank you so much for reviewing our hotel. We appreciate your feedback, whether it is good or bad.

We are so sorry to hear you did not feel “at home” in our guestrooms. We understand our rooms are outdated and we are in the process of updating each and every guestroom. Our renovation is planned to take place in 2013, in the meantime we have added a few new items to the guestrooms including; brand new 37’ flat screen HDTV’s, brand new “Sweet Dream” mattress’s, custom designed dressers, and additional amenities.

We are also sorry that you unhappy with our parking and internet fee’s. We have a great package on our website called “Free of Fees” that I believe will interest you! This package includes a standard guestroom, free overnight parking, and free wireless internet in your room. Not only do we have this great package, but so many more on our DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose website. We try our best to accommodate each and every one of our guests the best we can, at the least expensive way.

We are happy to see you enjoyed our staff and thought we are as helpful as possible during your stay. If we ever have an issue while staying at our hotel, please feel free to call down to our Front Desk and we will assist you the best we can.

Again, we are sorry to see you did not enjoy your stay, but we hope with our upcoming changes to our décor and continual great service, you will stay with again in the near future.

Sincerely,
Carrie McAllen

At first glance hotel looked old and tired. Looking closer it is the dark, brown colors that gave that impression and it actually feels pretty new and nicely kept.
The hotel is close to highway 101 and there is nothing special around. You need a car to visit better restaurant and service.
the hotel has three restaurant on it self. Did not try any of them.

All in all a typical American conference hotel. Had all you needed without that little extra.
rooms
Big spacy rooms with french balcony.
Bathroom with tub and low placed headshower.
Extra sink outside bathroom next to wardrobe.
comfortable beds and adjustable a/c.
Wifi free in lobby otherwise charged per day.
Dark brown and beige colors and limited lightning. But felt fresh and clean.

Breakfast
Limited selection but plenty of fresh fruit. Ok.

Gym
Way too small for amount of guests. As I was jet lagged I visited at 05:30 i yhe morning and it was completely full!!

A small outdoor pool also available.

Staff
Reception welcoming and helped me out with any issues.
