This was our second visit and it was much less crowded on a Sunday evening.
To get here you need to look for the Mitsuwa Marketplace since it is the food court inside that houses Santouka. Since there are a few other stores in the same shopping area the place is busy and parking can be a bear.
Santouka is the first Japanese restaurant when you get into the market and is on your left. Grab a table before you arrive, if possible, since it gets busy.
They have a good display of the different menu items and pricing. Each item and size have their own number. It is a buck difference between regular and large. I ordered the 34: large spicy miso ramen while the rest of the family ordered 24: regular spicy miso ramen. The size is perfectly portioned for each of us and no leftovers!
The spicy miso is not too spicy with a good amount of pork, bamboo shoots, black fungus and lots of ramen. The miso broth is nice and rich and perfect seasoned. Last time we found the shio broth to be a little too salty.
For dessert you can pick from the Japanese specialty stores or get some Matcha flavored soft serve within the marketplace.
Overall a great meal just remember to bring cash. No credit or debit cards accepted.
