Not as good as before a few years back . One good thing is the huge portion size and great selection of dishes. This one is located in the big plaza where 99 Ranch Market is. It's on ground level near escalator. Cash only.

Went on a National Holiday. Ordered whole chicken, whole duck and BBQ park. None of them lived up to what I know Sam Woo's to be. Will chalk it up to a bad day for them.

Came based on friend's recommendation that their BBQ duck is very good and almost to die for.

Waited for about 20 mins on a Sunday afternoon. The BBQ duck certainly was very good but not much to be said about the service. Efficient service seems to equate to less talk and smiles.

If you want cheap authentic cantonese comfort food, this is the place. All of their dishes are priced cheaply, but the portions are large. Their dumplings in soup are some of the best in the area. Their beef stew is great as well. My favorite dish might be the pork chop in peking sauce. I would probably skip their bbq delicacy and get it at a different place. This place is packed during dinner and should expect long lines.

I live in a Midwestern college town, and unfortunately there are no Chinese restaurants with roast ducks and char sui hanging in the window. We stopped here on our way to Palm Springs from LA, then stopped on the way back as well. Service was a little slow but we would definitely return. BBQ pork and duck, shrimp with crispy noodles and garlic sauce, noodle soup, all good.
