We visited Napa for the first time this April. It was recommended that we stay in the St. Helena area by family and friends. We came across the Wine Country Inn from Trip Advisor reviews and it was everything we hoped and more. The rooms were very clean with a wonderful view of vineyards, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the setting was quiet and peaceful. It was close enough (5-20 min drive) to all the wineries, vineyards, and restaurants we planned to visit. Highly recommended!

My wife and I travel extensively worldwide and our travel standards are high... but we also try to be fair vis a vis price and expectation.... Feels family run, but not in a good way...

When we checked in both employees were on the phones.....and stayed on the phones...... then we were handed a room key, and told "up the stairs and over in that direction".... no offer to get someone to help with the luggage... no information about the place or the locale...(we have been many, many times to the wine country, and know how many amazing off the beaten path secrets there are... so it felt very "Motel" like...)

Our room was half nice... meaning the bathroom had been remodeled and was cute in a country design sort of way... the bedroom part still felt like an old apartment....even with a new bedframe....

There generally are two types of hotels in the wine country, quaint with great service, or upscale...... and this was neither.

When we went down for breakfast, it was empty... (this was at 8:30... and by empty, I mean there were no placemats down, no one offering to seat us... nada......... after we waited around a few minutes, we simply decided to go into town and get breakfast...)

Overall, not horrible, but no positives either.

Room Tip: The upper floors are better, but there are many, many stairs and no elevators that we could find... so heads up

We were there for a girls birthday weekend and it was the best! Everyone did anything to make us feel welcome and accommodated. I couldn't ask for anything better - the food, the comfort and the staff were next level.

This was our first trip to Napa and the Wine Country Inn and Cottages was the PERFECT place to stay. So quiet, quaint and relaxing. Rooms were very large, clean, and the breakfast was absolutely perfect and exactly what you needed before a day of wine tasting. My husband and I had an amazing time and left feeling so relaxed. Will definitely stay again!

We spent three nights at the Wine Country Inn and Cottages and can't say enough good things about it. Wonderful views. Complimentary upgrade from a room to a cottage. Everything you'd expect from a high end inn and more.
