Owner description: Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery, consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, we farm our five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

We love Grgich Hills! The customer service and attention to detail was amazing! Linda poured for us. She is probably the friendliest person around! When we got there the tasting room was very busy, but she poured us a generous glass of chardonnay while we waited. Once we started tasting, she was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine. I think the 07' cab is my favorite! Linda gave us some great ideas about which foods to pair with the different wines we tasted. She also recommended other wineries to visit off the beaten path. She explained to us what biodynamic farming techniques are, and how it affects the quality of the wine. Even their winery is green, using solar power! Go to this winery and ask for Linda!

They gave us some extra tastes. I think they knew we weren't going to buy much so they acted a little distracted. Good wines, I often buy them in the store.

I love red wine. But, I get bored of tasting at several wineries and only seeing 1 token white that is usually not very good. Red is great and we drink a lot of it with meals and when we entertain. However, we also drink a lot of white. Grgich has a wonderful array of both. We joined the wine club. They do a great job explaining the wine and how to identify the flavors.

You have to make Grgich Hills one of your stops in the Wine Country. We visited with family, the four of us were celebrating special anniversaries, and our experience at Grgich added great memories. We had a private tasting in the cellar room - it was phenomenal. Linda, our your guide, knows her business. She had great attention to detail. We learned not only about the history of Grgich, but also details regarding the fine quality of the wines. Known especially for their white wine - the Cabs are to die for, you must try them. Linda was so good, when she invited us back at the end of the week for a barrel tasting - the four of us returned & were glad we did.

Thank you so much, Linda. We will be back!

The day we visited they were 'Stomping Grapes'....a riotous time! Take off your shoes and socks and jump into a vat of grapes and go at it. Pictures taken with your camera by the host and when you step out of the vat you are stepping onto a white T-shirt (that you purchase). Those grape-stained feet provide a lasting 'impression' of the moment! Those before you offer comic relief while you are waiting, and then it's your turn to put on a show.
