I was absolutely aggravated by this place. First off, no free parking. Had to pay the meter $1.00 an hour. I let that slide since this is downtown Riverside afterall. When I walked inside, I stood there waiting to be seated. No host/hostess to greet you here. I saw a short lady rushing about, but no acknowledgement from her. I was contemplating leaving but I really wanted to try their AYCE sushi. After 10 minutes of standing there, I hailed a gentleman who looks like the owner and he YELLED at the short lady to seat me which she did hurriedly. She ushered me to a table and left. After 5minutes, I was wondering if she forgot about me. Then I saw her serving the tables next to me 2x before I hailed her over and told her I wanted AYCE and hot tea, pls. She nodded and left. Again, she did not come back. Another 5 minutes went by, no show from her. So, I did what I had to do, I moved myself to the bar. This is where I added 1 star to their rating. James, one of the sushi chef somewhat saved the day for me. Albeit slow, he fed me! I ordered Salmon Sushi, Rainbow roll, Spider roll, Crispy Salmon roll, Unagi and tempura roll. Everything was mediocre (from taste to portions). I also ordered Siomai and quite frankly, I was disgusted when I saw the siomai served to me. It look pale and sickly - see pic. Taste was not up to par. I don't know what I ate but it did not taste like Siomai. After my 2nd roll from James, the short lady came by, tapped my shoulders and almost chastised me for moving to the bar without letting her know, and then she smiled sweetly and served me my appetizer. I was truly confuse and scared for my life. I did not want to touch my appetizer then. And still, no tea... I didn't even bother to ask her for it again. After my third roll, I had to ask James for ice water. Imagine that. I also had to get up, waited by the kitchen for my bill. Otherwise, I would most likely waste another 10 minutes waiting for the lady to give me the bill, and another 10 minutes to complete the transaction. And even with that, I still had to wait!

Overall, a very, very weak 2 stars rating!!! The service here is absolutely terrible, the worst I've ever experienced! I really felt ignored at this resto! Mind you, I was not even expecting a top service or attention. Rudeness and unnecessary LOOOONG wait is not acceptable for any establishment. The yelling need to stop too. They yell at each other from one corner to the other. Asian Ghetto! To make matters worse, the food was only mediocre at best - for almost $20.00 lunch buffet (that's without beverage). Totally, not worth it!

Cabin Sushi is good food, and they have an all you can eat price.
The unfortunate position on the restaurant is that they have a sex shop for a neighbor and literally no parking.
Try parking about a block away on a street or lot and you'll be ok. The sex shop people have never bothered us when we were going to the restaurant, so you can ignore them.

Cabin sushi is right next to White Park in downtown, right on Market, so it shouldn't be missed.

The restaurant is no frills, and the decor is dated. The restaurant is clean though and the service is friendly enough. There are plenty of tables, and they do seat larger parties, but call ahead. The sushi bar isn't huge, but sufficient, and the service is prompt.

Not too many places have all you can eat sushi, but this was good. Not the best I've had, but good. Do not go 20 minutes before closing and expect to eat at the sushi bar. They will not continue to serve you after closing time. In fact, they may not even seat you.
This is a bit of a faux pas for good customer service, but I understand. They could end up being there another hour.

So try it out for lunch or dinner, just don't try to park behind the restaurant at all. and if you eat too much, go for a walk in White Park when you're done.

Thank gili
