The service was more then excellent. From the time we walked in and we were greeted by the hosts. We didn't have reservations. So we opted to a spot at the bar. The hosts kept an eye out for a place at the bar. When 2 seats became available she sat us. From the we were greeted by Tanya the Bartender. Shw was very attentive as busy as this resturant was. She made abosuletly delious drinks. We ordered the Grilled Ceasar Salad that was excellent. I ordered the Meat Loaf that was excellent and my wife had the Shrimp and Grits, also excellent. This a place that we will go back to.

We enjoyed an interesting meal here. Many unusual food combinations that paired well with our wine. Best mushrooms ever! Service was good even though the restaurant was packed. We will return.

We three quite enjoyed the scene here -- it felt very urban hip, with a menu of small platters and entrees. The best: the mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks), especially the purple rain and the cactus cucumber thingie. Good: the smoked salmon small plate, served in a jar with creme fraiche and with salt and vinegar chips on the side. OK: The rotisserie chicken. As with all birds done this way, the breasts can be on the dry side, as these were. Things that didn't quite work: the mushrooms. I know, I know, everyone loves these, but we felt the smoky flavor was overdone. And the blondie: the home-made walnut ice cream was great, but heavens, this isn't a blondie, it's cake with blondie seasonings. It needs to be denser! We loved this place's ambience, but we feel it's still got room to grow culinarily.

“Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name...” Ok, so we hadn’t been here before, but that didn’t make us feel any less at home sitting at the bar with Gillian mixing up fantastic craft cocktails and bringing us delectable plates of mouth happiness. I loved the Summertime — the perfect respite from the hundred degree temperature outside. The Beehive was a yummy twist on a familiar classic, and my hubby enjoyed toasting with a fabulous glass of Macallan rare cask.

The food was equally delicious. We loved the fire-roasted hen of the woods mushrooms so much we ordered a second helping. Other faves were the shrimp and grits (get the sausage) and the meatloaf, and the house-made hot sauce. And if you have room for dessert, the cheesecake ice cream is a real treat. We will be back soon to try the other dishes!
