Owner description: Estrella Warbirds Museum is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of military aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia of those who flew and worked in the military aviation field. Our approach, however, is not to glorify conflict but rather to make a future generation aware of the fact our way of life does not come without sacrifice. Founded over 25 years ago by two men with two airplanes and a strong desire to see an aviation museum in Paso Robles, California, little did they realize how far and how rapidly their initial dream would carry them. Today, located on over 13 acres of land, situated on the Paso Robles Municipal Airport grounds, the Estrella Warbirds Museum is one of the fastest growing non-profit museum on the west coast. The museum has become an intregral part of the Paso Robles community attracting visitors from around the world.

We visit Paso frequently and do the winery thing but this time I decided we should try some new places. I found this on a map and decided to check it out. It is a truly remarkable place with a collection of military aircraft and vehicles that was much more extensive than I had expected . In addition there are weapons collections and communications devices as well as uniforms and other military gear . As a bonus there is a collection of cars on display that is awesome . Antiques , racing cars and lots of other memorabilia . We visited just this morning and had the place almost entirely to ourselves . Great place very close to the Eberle winery off route 46.

Excellent collection of military aircraft. Inside you will find military artifacts nicely displayed with informative descriptions.Try the flight simulator. The automotive collection is a nice companion display. You will need a couple of hours to really enjoy all this museum has to offer. The volunteer docents are pleasant and provide a wealth of information.

A well kept secret at the end of Paso Robles Airport. Tons of aviation and military history in the museum, especially WWII era. Great P-38 Lightning exhibit and video. Excellent assortment of Cold War era aircraft on the ramp. Another museum holds motorized military vehicles and armaments (especially missiles/rockets) from WWII/Cold War era. For car buffs an additional interesting museum holds some vintage, beautifully restored cars from the 20th Century including a 1954 red corvette in mint condition. Great value for $12 admission!

After noticing a sign next to our RV park, we decided to take a look. My husband worked 25 years at LAX so airplanes were a major part of his past. His father was a car racer so we enjoy recalling some of his history. The airplanes are mainly in an area with a well paved pathway that meanders among the many hands on displays. Because of the heat, we toured the outside first and then took a look at the cars. Even for someone who is not "into" cars, the walk down memory lane was fun and all the museum volunteers were very friendly and helpful. The last section was the war memorabilia room which was displayed with great care. We ended up buying a few things in the gift shop as a memory of a fun stop. $10 each to enter.
