Owner description: Estrella Warbirds Museum is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of military aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia of those who flew and worked in the military aviation field. Our approach, however, is not to glorify conflict but rather to make a future generation aware of the fact our way of life does not come without sacrifice. Founded over 25 years ago by two men with two airplanes and a strong desire to see an aviation museum in Paso Robles, California, little did they realize how far and how rapidly their initial dream would carry them. Today, located on over 13 acres of land, situated on the Paso Robles Municipal Airport grounds, the Estrella Warbirds Museum is one of the fastest growing non-profit museum on the west coast. The museum has become an intregral part of the Paso Robles community attracting visitors from around the world.

After noticing a sign next to our RV park, we decided to take a look. My husband worked 25 years at LAX so airplanes were a major part of his past. His father was a car racer so we enjoy recalling some of his history. The airplanes are mainly in an area with a well paved pathway that meanders among the many hands on displays. Because of the heat, we toured the outside first and then took a look at the cars. Even for someone who is not "into" cars, the walk down memory lane was fun and all the museum volunteers were very friendly and helpful. The last section was the war memorabilia room which was displayed with great care. We ended up buying a few things in the gift shop as a memory of a fun stop. $10 each to enter.

Yes, there is an airport in Paso Robles used by private planes on a regular and frequent basis. Also at the airport is this extensive museum of many antique warbirds. Opens at the public and definitely worth a visit if you're into airplanes, history or the military.

If you enjoy aviation history - especially the WWII period - this is a "must see" museum. Collections include both aviation and ground support vehicles. Each lovingly restored and maintained.

This is one of several medium sized collections around the country that don't get the attention they deserve.

Annually they are host to a major Paso Robles air show. Combine a visit to the air show with a visit to the museum for a great trip. Add on an extra day to stop by the many wineries in the area for a full package trip that can keep the whole family entertained - air show, aviation museum, wineries, spas, hotel & pool, and lots of great restaurant options.

About 2 1/2 easy hours South of San Jose.

We found a leaflet for this attraction and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find so many aircraft, rare vintage cars and WW2 memorabilia. Truely amazing! Very well presented. Pristine buildings, excellent displays, immaculate toilets, and very helpful staff. There was a range of fighter jets, tanks, weapons, armoured vehicles through to rare vintage cars (including racing cars). An absolute must see for history buffs and car fanatics! My 2 boys and husband were in awe of the wonderful things to see and many photographic opportunities. An air worthy Dakota is quite a sight to behold. A shame we are not here when there are shows....imagine that is definitely worth a visit!

This museum is beyond what you would expect for one of it type and size. The extensive number of aircraft, military vehicles, military munitions, race cars, classic cars, and military history displays is incredible. A must see for adults and children!
Great work by all the museum personnel and volunteers!
