Creekside Inn is on a beautiful property not very far from the campus of Stanford University. There is flowers, open courtyards, a nice path between buildings and a heated outdoor pool. The room was more spacious than average with an open living space and sofa. They have all the amenities-- I think I saw you could even reserve a Tesla if needed. The price seemed high coming from out of town, but it was competitive for the area and star-rating.
Unfortunately, there were some downsides, too. My room wasn't ready when I arrived and I had to go back three times before something was available. The floors turned my feet black-- I suspect because they are not changing the mop water between rooms and dirt is tracking into the carpet. One day out of my week-long stay, the room service took my old towel but didn't leave me a new one or respond when I used the handy in-room tablets to order more. My room key was constantly needing to be reprogrammed. When I did interact with staff in the office, they were generally apathetic and distracted.
Pros and cons. If I were headed back to the area I might look around at the options a little longer, but I wouldn't be opposed to staying here again if it looked like the best place.More
