The place is pricey and noisy but the food and service are great. We ordered plantain chips, chilli releno, ravioli with bean and cheese, small plate tacos, shrimp small plate (okay) and the banana Upside down cake which was amazing. With 2 drinks it cost us $140 without tips. This was Mexican did with a twist
Plain chips with dip scored 4/5. It was crispy, tasty, long about 10 pieces. Wish there was one more sauce which was spicy. The dip was a small portion, creamy and tasted tangy. Wish it was a bit more as we ran out of it.
Chilli releno asked a 4.5 as it was perfect. Filled with cheese and jalapeño it was laid in a perfect sauce with Cole slaw side. The 2 peppers were really small sized but perfect.
The tacos were good but the shrimp was average according to the meat lover.
The ravioli was 5 pieces the size of dumplings filled with good bean paste. The salad on top had crunchy tomatoes and was delicious. This was a 3.75 and I guess I was getting less hungry with dismissing returns. I may have gone with another small plate instead of this full plate.
Finally the warm dessert was extraordinary with a warm banana cake which was devoured in 1o seconds worth the caramel Ice cream sitting on powdered Brown sugar. Will visit again just for this.
