Traveling with kids isn't always easy and we're not the fast casual kind of family so we rely on the patience of restaurants and the mood of our girls to have great meals. The latter wasn't great and since there was wind happening Tropicale asked if we'd be ok moving inside and sitting on a low sofa. Not the most convenient way to eat.

But then Lacey took us under her wing. She's utter magic. She had our girls enraptured and happy. My 4.5 yo invited her to her birthday party in 4 months :)

The food was good, for appetizer we got the pupu platter, I would have just gone for the ribs as they were the best thing on it.

The spaghetti and meatballs were off the charts good and a Huge helping so definitely enough for family style.

The cocktails were hit or miss, the Coconut martini was great and so was the Peanut butter cup martini for dessert. The key lime pie had a good filling but the crust was simply too thick and hard to put into.

We would have definitely enjoyed Tropicale more as just a couple, but thanks to Lacey the evening was a hit!

South seas retro decor without being a tiki dive bar. Eclectic menu choices include Asian fusion, salads, pizzas. For dinner we had sauted scallops done perfectly over Asian noodles with shrimp & Chinese sausage plus pork chop over Hawaiian spam fried rice. Portions, including cocktails, generous. Diners a comfortable mix of gay/straight.

We have been hitting the best reviewed restaurants around, some of them you wonder if the owner wrote the reviews, but we were not disappointed here. The service and the ambiance were the best we have experienced. I was not overwhelmed by the Southern Fried Chicken, one of their specialties, but my wife enjoyed her Crab Salad. We went at 5 on a Thursday night when they have live jazz and the place was packed but we were seated and served in record time and really enjoyed the vibe and energy and we agree, the patio is the place to be.

We sat at bar two times. .. the first time Sushi Sundays which was great. However we were charged for two club sodas which is ok but not great (they really shouldnt charge for this and the best places even high end to hole in the walls really dont try to nickle and dime for this but we figured we would give them another try and chance as food was good) We decided to come back and give the place a second chance and came on fat tuesday and once again sat at bar and this time the we got the same server (starts with T) . He was a little cold and could have been "welcome back" and greeted us with smile. Bottom line there is a plethora of places in PS and dont really see what the hype is all about this place. We will give them another shot but three strikes you are out. We have eaten at many other places in PS and the service here shines everywhere.

A wonderful restaurant with great service, atmosphere and food. We dined on the patio with a tropical setting. Lively, trendy and tasteful. Somewhat pricey but the food was delicious. Two dishes: Sea Bass on a bed of uniquely prepared vegetables on a bed of rice. A delicious, large serving of spicey tomatoe/vegetable/lentil soup with a hint of Indian spices. Southern fried chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes. The potatoes were combined with gravy. Sounds like something you could get anywhere but the potatoes were very tasty with herbs and other additions. The boneless chicken was cooked perfectly and hot upon arrival. Sweet tasting and wonderful collard greens came with the dish. Some of the best I have eaten. The desert was a monstrous, eight layer chocolate cake slice. Enough for four people. Rich, moist and nice chocolate flavor. What a nice evening.
