all was o.K.so far, but they offer "continental breakfast": coffee or tea, one glass of orange juice and a small piece of pastry in a caffee next door or you take the $ 1-voucher.
I travel a lot on the "continent", but never got such a "breakfast" !

Room Tip: best rooms to the patio

We stayed here for only two nights and the rainy weather prevented us from enjoying what looks to be a very nice (and warm) pool area. The location is good (out of busy downtown Palm Springs but close to the Aerial Tramway) and the grounds are in good condition. The rooms, however, are rather disappointing. We had immediate help with a leaky faucet but the bathroom seemed way too small (some water knobs has about an inch clearance from the shower corner and the shower heads are mounted at that old standard, just 5-1/2 feet up from the floor). The bed was firm (good) and there was a fridge and WiFi but overall you would not want to spend time in these rooms (fairly clean but worn out) because there is no overhead lighting (just floor lamps). I thought that we could probably get a nicer bigger room for the money (about $80/night through Priceline) but if all you need is a place to sleep this should be OK. The staff was very nice and try their best with very old facilities.

The grounds were kept nicely and they have a hot tub and pool, so overall a pretty good value. Some rooms have been updated and are a little more expensive. We stayed in an older room-it was clean and fine, but definitely needed some redecorating (!!). Every room has sliders outside to a balcony or patio-would stay away from first floor rooms as some sliders open up to the parking lot. Staff was friendly enough. Breakfast is literally a cup of coffee, oj and a pre-packaged pastry (really, not even as complete as some other Days Inn breakfasts). Served at the restaurant next door, so it is really easy to just pay for a more complete breakfast (and pretty good at pretty decent prices). Really good location, a few blocks from downtown. Would absolutely recommend to those on a budget, especially traveling with kids.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms on the first floor! Some have sliding doors that open right to the parking lot.

Here are the positives: this was a good location, It was very quiet, plenty of parking, the size of the room was large compared to most, front desk was speedy and friendly. Negatives: the towels were like sandpaper and very small, there was no blow dryer in room and the one they sent to the room was useless I blow more hot air, the beds were the worst I have every slept on, the decor needs to be updated, what is this the 1950's?, and the water pressure was bad, as well as I got scalded throughout my shower as the water kept changing to very hot then cold. I definately paid too much. This should be called a Motel 2.
