“This place needs a facelift”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

The parking lot we were told to park in was on the other side of the hotel from our room. Also, the second floor hallway smelled like marijuana. The bathtup in our room could not be filled as the plug did not work. The screen door for the slider was off the runner. All in all, this place was run down and not inviting. On a positive note, it is near many restaurants.

Hotel needs a renovation. So many of the Palm Springs hotels have been renovated but this property has not and is in desperate need. I will stay somewhere else next time.

Me and my family of five (including a 2 year old) were looking forward to our second stay at this hotel as our last experience was very good. However, things did not start off well when the receptionist stuck us on the third floor in a section of the hotel with a broken elevator. We had to shlep all our luggage half way around the hotel to get to a working elevator. Then I called to request a room change and was denied. To make matters worse, I was left standing alone for 10 minutes in the lobby when I requested to speak with the manager. With a family to care for after a long 2 hour drive, I took the manager's card and determined to give her an ear full after I settled my family in. The Rooms Director Shannon Anderson soon called me to rectify the situation by offering us a free room upgrade and breakfast. This was very much appreciated. We ended up having a very pleasant 3 night stay enjoying the wonderful pool and hot tubs every chance we could.

What a great place to stay while in Palm Springs! The suite was so nice and roomy and the views were amazing. Our room faced the mountains and the last morning there was snow on the tops, even though it was warm where we were!! We ate in the restaurant 2 times and found the food excellent, as well as the service. Would recommend this to anyone.

We spent a recent weekend at the Hilton in Palm Spring using Hilton Honors Points. The hotel is a pleasant mid sized somewhat dated resort in downtown Palm Springs. The lobby was quite nice and at the same time quite ordinary. Nothing to complain about I would say. The staff was exceptionally courteous. Again, the room was of average size, the beds comfortable and everything was clean. The carpeting simply looked old...the walls a bit dated and the same story in the bathroom. The room overlooked a very nice and uncrowded pool. We utilized it and the water was a comfortable temperature and very clean. There was a nice outdoor bar by the pool. The hotel also has a very small and somewhat underequipped gym. I'm not sure one could really call it a gym. Some of the cardio equipment was not in working order either. We ate breakfast in the restauarnt. Fair prices...extraordinarily friendly waiter, yet average a bit like the entire resort. The parking was 12 dollars per night which we felt a bit of a rip off as parking is ample at resorts in the area and thus simply a tacked on price to the room. However, being familiar with the area, many of the large brand new upscale resorts with all of the luxury amenties are a number of miles away in Palm Desert, Indian Wells or even as far as La Qunita. The Hilton in Palm Springs affords easy access to downtown Palm Springs and its many amenities. We would definitely return for average facilities with convenient access to downtown Palm Springs. If we wanted to golf or be in an upscale resort we would head out Palm Desert instead. Do note as this is downtown Palm Springs there is no golfing at the hotel of course.

Room Tip: ask for a poolside or pool view room otherwise you will be overlooking a parking lot...however the p...
