As other reviewers have stated, the views of Palm Springs and Coachella Valley are stunning. Especially around late afternoon through sunset into the night.
There are a couple things to bear in mind to make this an enjoyable visit.
1) Check and double check the forecasted tempatures at the top. Palm Springs may be warm to hot, depending on the time of the year but it is much COOLER at the top of the Tram. DRESS ACCORDINGLY otherwise you WILL be cold.
2) Remember that its over 8000 feet high. The air will be much thinner. Eventually you will adjust but watch yourself the first few hours otherwise youll feel very lightheaded or worse. Normal physical activity will leave you worn out a lot quicker. Keep thos mind if you are bringing someone who is wheel chair bound.
Enjoy!

Great views. I enjoyed the informative display and the video. There are opportunities for hiking. I did a little of it but I prefer paved walking paths

Take the cable car to the top of the mountain. Over eight thousand feet up, for some of the most stunning views of Palm Springs and the surrounding areas. The restaurants at the top of the mountain were excellent and not over priced.

Definitely worth a visit if you want to get out of the heat of Palm Springs. We found a nice short hike to take the kids and they even enjoyed it.

There are 54 miles of hiking trails in the park for hikers with all levels of experience. The park also offers guided nature walks on two short trails in the weekends. This area is also popular with the younger crowd who are into bouldering - there is even a book in the park Visitor Center on the best spots in the park.
