Tucked into a shopping arcade off of busy Palm Canyon Drive is a wonderful venue called Tippers Gourmet Marketplace. The outdoor patio is quiet and perfect for an afternoon meal. My dining companion enjoyed her Italian Chopped Salad while I savored the Roast Beef sandwich on a French Baguette and incredible pesto pasta salad.

There is also a nice selection of fine wines by the bottle, pre-packaged pastas, sandwiches and snacks for those wanting to take-away for a picnic or enjoy at their hotel room.

The staff is friendly, the prices are good, what's not to like? Give it a try.

Don't know why Tipper's is called a 'Gourmet Marketplace' when it is not a market but a fairly ordinary restaurant. We were a party of nine and went to Tipper's for a late breakfast. The fare was pretty standard -- eggs, sausages (that are made in-house), bacon, etc. Everyone's dishes were good but nothing outstanding. And the toast arrived unbuttered and jam was not offered until requested. Also, some of our party began eating fifteen minutes before the rest of us -- not uniform serving. Prices are reasonable -- $6.95 for two eggs, potatoes, choice of meat and toast.
A good place to go for breakfast but I wouldn't call it 'gourmet'!

Thank you for visiting Tipper's and taking the time to write your review. We refer to ourselves as a Gourmet marketplace for a couple of reasons, but primarily it is because we pride ourselves on offering "Real Food Made Fresh". We don't have microwaves, we don't use canned sauces, dressings or offering straight out of a can. These are recipes that I as well as my staff have created for the enjoyment of our customers. We arrive early every day to make it all so that it is fresh. We also carry meats, cheeses, wines and other retail items that are only carried in higher end markets and retailers, in addition to our catering. We hope that you'll have an opportunity to come back again and try some of our other menu items or attend one of our wine and food pairing events which are quite popular. Once again, we appreciate your business as well as your review. Thank you.

It has been a really rainy year in Palm Springs and this is one of those days to venture out and find a good, hot lunch. We had heard about a nice little spot directly across the street from the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Palm Springs. It is tucked into an area of small retail shops so it is hard to see from the street. It was definitely worth the effort to find it! Felix who is the owner took great care of us and Sue his chef was a joy to talk with about about different types of food. We had the special which was a turkey ruben...outstanding! It came with a choice of a small garden or pasta salad. Their pot pie soup sounded great as well and we will be back on another occasion for that. The blue cheese burger special sounded great as well! The intimate restaurant has an outdoor area when the weather is nice and offers both breakfast and lunch entrees. While not open for dinner, you can take out some dinner specials prior to closing at 5:00. The restaurant also has a small deli area where you can purchase artisan cheeses, Italian style meats such as salami's and prosciutto, and some great wines at great prices. The red blend we had for lunch was excellent for $15 a bottle or $5 a glass. If you are staying at the Hyatt or one of the many area hotels, this is the place to come if you want to take deli items or great sandwiches back to you room and not pay high hotel prices. We will definitely be back to Tipper's in the very near future!
