As Marriott Vacation Club owners we always like to stay in a Marriott hotel. This time, we had tickets for the Indian Wells final, so we decided to stay there for 2 nights in a studio, considering we haven't planned to use the hotel facilities but only the room for sleeping. We were really disappointed with the service. When checking in nobody asked us how we were, or if we had a good trip, things like that you always hear from the receptionists. I asked for 3 keys and only received 2. The room was smaller than usually and nothing special in it. The morning after, when preparing the coffee, we found out that there were no mugs for the coffee. We didn't complain. At checking out, same lack of sympathy. Nobody asked us if everything was OK and no greeting at all. I was really really disappointed.

I just stayed in the 2 bedroom/2 bath villa with my husband and 2 kids (ages 4yrs, 3yrs) The resort is very clean with beautiful mountain views and the staff couldn't be more friendly. We stayed 3 nights/4 days which was perfect for our family. There isn't a ton for kids to do outside the area so we swam and they participated in the activity center. After our 3rd night we were ready to move onto another California adventure to keep the kids entertained. I would come back and stay at this resort in a heart beat but more for a romantic getaway!

We stayed at this resort for one night while attending the tennis in Indian Wells. I knew we would spend little time in the room so chose their least expensive, which was basically the second bedroom of one of the time share units (I believe all units are time shares). The room was clean and comfortable and the ground are clean and well maintained. The pool areas are very nice and definitely geared toward a family vacation. The resort is huge though and I imagine those pool areas would get noisy. This resort worked for what we needed it for but I would not return for an extended stay, preferring a resort like La Quinta where there are pools for adults only and the resort itself has more character. If you have a young family you might like it more. My other peeve was that although the resort is enormous there was only one restaurant serving dinner and they stopped serving at 8p.

Room tip: High floor overlooking golf course

Stayed here for one night in February for a large family gathering. There were 13 of us including 5 young children (under age 5). We got 2 two-bedroom villas and it was more than adequate spaces for us all. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the villas near the pools or play area. There is a golf course within the resort so the place felt very spacious and green. The villas are equipped with necessary kitchen items (plates, utensils and such) but you might want to bring your own dish detergent to clean it up. The bathrooms were large with a tub and a shower for the suite.

We didn't interact much with the property management except when we checked in and out but they were nice and courteous.

All the families talked about coming back for a longer spell soon so we can enjoy all that the resort has to offer... movies, pools, workout room, hiking and golf.

Room tip: If you have children, make sure to ask for villas/rooms near the pools or play area. Otherwise, the villas near quiet pool are very nice.

Love a resort with many recreation options. Pretty units. Pool complexes are large but for such a large property, wish there were more pools. Pretty mountain views all around--and can even practice putting at night! Nice balconies. A reasonable drive to upscale shopping district and Indian Wells tennis tournament. Many nice supermarkets nearby. Lots of other Marriott options nearby. Have only tried this one, and it is very good. Nice tennis pro offering several clinics each day. Free yoga!
