Great place to stay and walk around Ojai. Very accommodating, great wine tasting, breakfest and the girls there were so helpful with everything. Very flexable on your check in time and you can enjoy the property even after you check out. Wow!

Move life back a hundred years and relax! Choose a quiet, separate bungalow (only one) or one of seven darling bedrooms upstairs in the historical main house. I have seen all seven of these rooms, and have stayed in several, because we come annually with six other couples to bicycle. Ojai has great trails for biking including one, separate from traffic, that goes all the way to the beach in Ventura. From Ventura, we return to quaint shopping, croquet in the garden, reading, wine and appetizers on the verandah or in front of the fire, and, in the mornings, a great breakfast. There are books and indoor games in the cupboards for a rainy day. Beth, the innkeeper, will direct you to a number of great restaurants for dinner, and there is a wonderful small-town deli directly across the street, where you can eat, or order up a picnic. Don't miss the farmer's market Sunday morning, 100 yards to the left!
We always come home happy, rested, and looking forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: Want lots of privacy? Take the separate cottage. Want a corner room? There are four of them. Garden view? Private balcony? Just check Lavender Inn's website or call the innkeeper. Need room for a third person? Take the Cozy Retreat. Two notes: 1) Two rooms share a bath. Very reasonably priced, but you might not want this option unless you have family or friends in the other room. 2) Bed sizes vary so, if that matters to you, check the web-site. However, ALL beds and pillows are comfortable. Our group has tested them all.

My wife and I just spent a weekend away in Ojai, our first time there. What a pleasant find the Lavender Inn was for our stay! Beth, the innkeeper, was very friendly and helped us figure out what we wanted to do in Ojai according to our tastes. The inn is clean, quiet, and spacious. The living room is furnished with antiques and a comfortable sofa in front of the fireplace. It has a study well stocked with a great collection of books. The breakfasts were delightful, each morning a bit different, but chalked full of fresh vegetables along with abundant fresh fruit. We stayed in the Lavender Room which has a spacious balcony overlooking the beautiful lawn, garden, and fish pond. It is located in town which made for enjoyable and easy walks to the town and restaurants. The Lavender Inn made the weekend about as perfect as it could be.

Even as a woman I don't usually stay at places with "lavender" in its name. But Ojai's Lavender Inn was a real find for my husband and myself. Clean, welcoming, quiet and with lots of history and character - we had a lovely stay there. The complimentary wine and cheese was a nice touch, we enjoyed doing the jigsaw puzzle with other guests and our breakfast was delicious. Have already recommended Lavender Inn to some friends upon my return home.

Room Tip: Rooms are all different - size, colour, configuration, decor. Look them over and pick one to suit your personality.

Thank you so much for your review and recommending us to your friends. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and design, with a balance of historic touches and 'the new'. I try to make sure it's not too 'lavender-ish' - I know the name can give a different impression. We look forward to welcoming you back!!!

I booked the Lavender Inn as a birthday surprise for my husband. We stayed in the Provenance Room which is pet -friendly-we love to travel with our pup. The room is very well appointed with its own private yard ,living room with fireplace and kitchenette. I was looking for a quiet, cozy and relaxing place and it that and more. A family of four could easily fit in this room very comfortably. The garden areas are beautiful and well maintained. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in a half hour early since we arrived at 2:30 p.m. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the morning which was made from fresh ingredients. The bathroom had two terry cloth robes.. which you could wear to get a message at the spa. Overall, I would highly recommend this location if you are looking for a family vacation spot or a romantic get away. We had such a wonderful time and we hope to return real soon.

Room Tip: If you want to travel with your pet the Provenance room or the Tova are both pet-friendly. There is a charge of $35 for the pet.
