My husband and I are working our way through the many "all vegan" restaurants in the Bay area. We love Millennium, Shizen, Flacos, Sanctuary, etc.
Here is my review of Encuentro divided into the good and the opportunities for improvement. We'll likely give Encuentro another chance in a few months.
*Appetizers - tostada, pecan pate, and salad
*Desert - chocolate cake and peanut butter ice cream sandwich
*Served Timeless coffee
*Atmosphere and decor
Opportunities for improvement:
*Service was slow…they seemed understaffed. I canceled one of my beers because I finished my entree before it arrived
*Entrees needed an element to brighten them up and offset the richness. We had the gnocchi and the chickpea dish
*They seem to put a lot of effort into having lots of gluten free options but don't offer even one gluten free beer. It would be very easy to add bottled Omission or Daura to the menu. Honestly, given the GF presence on the rest of the menu, this is just plain silly
