It is all done on the honor system here, you arrive, see who is already in line and then watch who comes after you. I have never seen a dispute about position here, there is no list made. The clients seem to be mostly regulars or friends who are becoming regulars. A nice meal with an extra nice view across the small marina and the channel to Balboa Island. The menu does not vary much, the service is good, it doesn't vary much either. Comfort food, breakfast severed all day, my choice is usually eggs Benedict with ham, hashed brown potatoes. The wait staff are almost family, you get to know them, and what is going in their lives. You find the occasional "camper" the two guys who will not leave, and linger over the last minutes, seemingly forever. I find the cheeseburger to my taste as well, and I think they have the second best pickles I have ever had. Sure not traveling hours to get the best as I remember them from long ago. She has her favorite Tuna Salad, nearly every time we come here. I haven't a clue how they do it, but it is always better than home. Nothing fancy, this is Newport Beach from an era long ago. Only in the last several years have they accepted credit cards. Enjoy the Galley while it is here.
