The Yosemite Bug is a great option if you don't want to spend a lot of money on some of the other resorts near or in the park. I highly caution you though to sleep in the 6 person dorm (Ansel Adams room) instead of the tent cabins. The dorm is really clean and comfortable, with nice beds and its own shower/bathroom (additional showers and toilets just adjacent outside). There are also washer/dryers for $2 and they sell detergent at the check in office. The dorms also have lockers and air conditioning which saved us from the heat. We stayed our first night at the dorm and was then going to switch to the private tent cabin but it was really bad! The cabin and beds were made of plywood quality wood and had a lot of bugs crawling around in it. It was also stifling hot inside with only a tiny table fan that would definitely not cool you down enough to sleep comfortably. There's no comparison between the cabin and dorm. My review of the rooms is: hostel/dorm 5 stars and private cabin 1 star. Additionally, they have a great cafe where you can get a nice hot meal. We ate breakfast there prior to heading out to the park; they open at 6:30am which is nice for early risers. As for the customer service of the staff, I think they're OK. The lady at check-in helped us...The Yosemite Bug is a great option if you don't want to spend a lot of money on some of the other resorts near or in the park. The lady at check-in helped us because we had car issues and didn't arrive until just after 11pm when they closed, but she was still there and answered our call. The lady working at the cafe seemed to be indifferent about her job and whether or not the customers needed something. If I go to Yosemite again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here at the dorms.
