A quirky and enjoyable hotel with good facilities. If you want pool-side access from your room ask for one of the ground-floor rooms next to the pool that provides that access. The Shuttle to Universal is great an very reliable although be their early on the first one of the day to avoid being bumped to the second run. There's plenty of great restaurants within walking distance and useful supermarket across the road (as well as a Starbucks). Helpful staff, great pool and excellent breakfast.

The room was spacious and the bathroom clean. It took a while whenever I had to deal with Reception, mainly waiting in line but this means of course that when your turn came, you were never rushed.

They were friendly and helpful, arranging tours and providing local information. There is a coin operated laundry which was an absolute godsend, although there was no change machine within which meant you had to go and cue back at reception to get change.

The pool was the central (surrounded on all sides by the hotel) and large with a pool bar and snacks. The restaurant had strange opening times (open for breakfast but not dinner) but did a good breakfast and room service was reasonable and prompt.

Very centrally located in Studio City and no problems with parking.

I got bitten by bed bugs (diagnosed by a doctor) and had $100 of new make up stolen from my room. It may have been a place for stars to stay in the past but not now!

Upgraded to a Suite (whatever that is nowadays- a room with a coffee table and 2 extra tables), smelled strong of paint thinner/acetone, complained, moved to room originally booked no smell. bath faucet will not stop leaking, worn out fixtures, scratched furniture, sign on balcony- (do not lean on handrail (!?!?!?), broken divider between patio's, very run down, this could be such a cool boutique hip Hollywood type place if they would fork out about 22 million, or bulldoze it and put a Residence Inn. I think it is just a mill for out of country tourists that are to far from home to complain or don't know any better.

Basic, no frills hotel. In room amenities aren't the best - no conditioner! However, as there are limited hotels to choose from in the area, the location makes it a good option. Kids would probably love it as there is a nice size pool. Beware, the pictures make the rooms look much more luxurious than they are.
