Living in W. L.A. and having so many good restaurants to choose from, Shamshiri is the one that I have been going to the most for over 38 years. The food and service is excellent. The portions are large enough for 2 people.
What should you order? Anything and everything on their menu...salads, stews, kabobs, etc., etc.!
They are busy most of the time ...so be patient. You will not regret it!

Thank Steven C

Food was good.service was ok. But they charge for bread $4.95. Waiter brought the bread second time without asking me and i was charged $9.90 total for dry thin bread. I will not go there again and be carefull their bread price.

Service: Excellent waiter (Eduardo) and very attentive. There was no host/hostess though to greet you and get you seated. It seemed like you just need to walk in, be noticed, and wait until someone is free to help you. Unfortunate for a Westwood location especially for first timers dining in this very original branch (there's one in the valley and maybe more).

Ambiance: Dim and lively. Feels like home and comfortable. It was almost packed for a Thursday night enough to enjoy the meal. Good crowd. The open kitchen is a plus! This branch passes the valley branch by miles in terms of look and feel!

Food: good appetizers...eggplant and koobideh sliders; Quantity of the entrees is quite huge. Share! Full of flavor. Love both fish and beef dish that we ordered. The bread served throughout the meal was inconsistent I.e. The 1st batch was hard and not good, however, it was followed by what it really should be.

Location: hard to find parking but we were lucky to find a metered parking spot in front.

Definitely coming back!

The portions are very generous - some of our party got plates to share others got their own dish. The folks who got their ow dish took food home as the portions are huge - the chicken was flavorful and moist...they have several different varieties and the chicken shamishiri has a selection of two of their most popular The crispy rice is a delicacy not to be missed. The lamb dishes were also well received. Our first time - we will be happy to return.

Enter through a secure gate into an open courtyard for warm weather seating to an enclosed warm dining room for the other times of the year. The decoration is traditional Indian with portraits of various yogis and other philosophers decorating the walls as well as tourist sites. The food is excellent, gheymeh dishes and various eggplant preparations.
