Description: Hinoki & the Bird is a travel inspired dining concept that pushes modern California cooking to vibrant new bounds. Taking cues from travels through the Silk Road, the restaurant serves as a colorful kaleidoscope where bright flavors, a healthful sensibility, and technique harmoniously collide. The Milo Garcia-designed indoor/outdoor space is housed on the ground floor of Related Companies' luxury condominium tower, The Century.

A good restaurant, in vogue among foodies on the west side. Worth a try if you like Nu Vo Japanese crossover cousine.

This place was good and classy a few years ago but things have changed tremendously. Not only the good but the decor has dropped in standards from the past.

Food - 2
The food used to be delicate and delicious but it has turned into a turn-style type of a restaurant without any class.

Service - 1
Our server was just a unhappy person. It doesn’t matter how bad you day is don’t reflect it on you job. Just go home.

Atmosphere - 2
The decor has gotten tacky with neon lights and designs to accentuate the Asian feel.

Will not return and sad this place has gone this route. A new manager is needed to return this place to its classy self. “Be classy my friend!”

With high expectations, I arranged a business meeting/luncheon at this restaurant for a midweek treat. My first impression was WOW!! Outstanding decor, very personable hostess and incredible bar service (while waiting for my client). We were seated (outside patio) upon her arrival and took a corner 'bench table' at the far end of the restaurant...under a speaker piping out loud music. Service was 'adequate' (automatic 20% tip with every bill...so not much of an incentive for them to impress) and somewhat passive. I opted for the lobster ramen with side pork and was extremely disappointed in it's flavor (or lack thereof)...specially for $28. One piece of side pork and two chunks of lobster with noodles in a 'sweaty beef soup'. I think for the two of us, we could have spent over $80 much more wisely at another restaurant.

Do use the valet parking, as the underground parking necessitates a long and tortuous walk. Very pleasant ambiance. Intuitive service. Great menu choices: shishtos, crispy chicken, lobster roll, turkey sandwich. Delicious food. Paramount lunch choice.

It is out of the way. It might be hard to find. But it is worth every thing when you get there. The food is great. The room is so comfortable and inviting that you want to come back as you are walking out the door. The Wild Boar Ribs were amazing.. I intend to go back and have them at the ba with just a glass of red wine. The service was wonderful. It is worth ever penny..
