I have been staying at this hotel for years. The rooms are large, with kitchens and living rooms, and the staff is very pleasant accommodating. The cafe serves a completely reasonable breakfast and has a full bar. It is a really pleasant hotel with no pretenses.

In the center of everything if you have a car. You really can not walk in Los Angeles, it is not New York City. The attractions are not clustered in one area. I could live in this little hotel year around. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. Short drives to Rodeo Drive, Malibu and Santa Monica. UCLA, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, are just across the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We wish LA was a more walkable city, but we're still happy to be here in the middle of it! It's nice and quiet, and the busier areas of the city aren't too far away for those who want to see them. Glad you had a great stay! I hope you'll come see us again soon. - Sai Yang - Director of Sales and Reservations

We came to LA from Las Vegas for one night to see a show. We booked a room at the Beverly Plaza Hotel for Saturday night. We arrived at the hotel at around 2:00 in the afternoon. The front desk clerk was friendly and courteous. The lobby was beautiful. The gentleman said we could get us in the room right away, even though normal check in was 3:00. We were thrilled. Our suite was clean and very luxurious. The property has a tropical feel to it, and next to our room was a waterfall and a koi pond. We went to the room and changed into swimsuits and went right to the pool. The pool is heated and the deck chairs are very comfortable. They serve food at the pool also, if you are hungry. We would definitely recommend this beautiful property.

Needed a hotel for one night after landing at LAX around 11 pm. Our room was right next to an outdoor courtyard with a jacuzzi. There were people in the jacuzzi all night talking very loud and we were up the entire night! If you must stay at this hotel make sure you don't get room 614! Front desk didn't seem to care about our sleepless night.

I'm sorry that your night with us was disturbed by the guests at the hot tub. We do our best to honor any room requests when possible, so I wish you had called ahead asking for a particular area of the hotel. If you give us another shot to impress you, I hope you'll give us a heads up so we can get you the perfect room.

Sincerely,

Sai Yang - Director of Sales and Reservations

For a four-day business trip on a budget, the Plaza Hotel is acceptable although not exceptional. The parking attendants deserve a true shout-out: For the number of times we came and went, they were unfailingly polite and efficient. The front desk staff members were efficient but somewhat distant, which was off-putting on several occasions. The restaurant is well-named: Petit. However, the breakfast was fine (albeit pricey) and the servers were extremely accommodating. The fact that the room was a walk-up was annoying, and it required a trek to get from the lobby to our room. We had a junior suite which was bigger than a hotel room but not particularly impressive. It could seriously have used some sprucing up. The bathroom was tiny with hardly any counter space. It was nice to have the little kitchenette and the refrigerator was a must on our list, but it certainly wasn't state of the art. The bed and tv were nice, and the additional furnishings were serviceable without being particularly appealing. It was somewhat noisy (The people next door had very loud guests). Overall, I probably would pay more money for something a bit more updated.

Room tip: Don't get a room near the hot tub.

Margery, whether it's for business or pleasure, we're happy to have anyone come stay with us, so I'm glad to hear your room was nice and comfortable. That said, I'm sorry if you felt the walk-up room was a bit of a hassle. Next time, give us a call ahead of time so we can try to get you a room in a specific area of the hotel that you might like more. We are working diligently on renovating all the rooms on the garden side of our hotel to accommodate many of the flaws you noticed about the tiny bathrooms and little counter space and hopefully on your next visit our new and improved rooms will make it exceptional for your next stay. Thank you and we appreciate the feedback.

Best wishes,
Sai Yang - Director of Sales and Reservations
