My wife and I stayed for a week in early February at the Hollywood Pensione. There are 3 rooms in this cozy B&B all named after famous Hollywood personalities... we stayed in the 'Elvis Room' which was decorated with period specific play-bills from the King's heyday.

We were welcomed by Gayle, the manager for the B&B who lived on the ground level. She showed us the amenities and was quite friendly and accommodating, printing some LA Kings tickets for us from her personal printer. Gayle continued being an excellent host throughout our visit.

The room was clean and cozy with a queen sized bed, a large LCD TV and private bathroom. The common areas were well laid out and we took advantage of the kitchen and outdoor sitting area every morning to enjoy coffee and muffins/bagels. There's also a sizable sitting area with a comfy couch.

The neighborhood is a close walk to downtown Hollywood attractions (walk of fame, Chinese theater, Pantages/Dolby theaters, etc...) and to the LA Metro. If you're looking for a rural setting, this is not what you'll get at the Hollywood Pensione, but you will find a quiet retreat in the midst of the bustling tourist capital of California. We were lucky enough to arrive when the grapefruit tree in the back yard was producing fruit and we enjoyed several fresh-from-the-tree treats during our stay. Parking is tight; don't come with anything larger than a compact car which will fit into their private parking area. Parking on the streets is also hit-or-miss.

Thank you Gayle... we will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in December, in the Marilyn room. Beds are super comfortable and the room was very clean. We come to LA a couple of times a year to visit family and had previously stayed in a boutique hotel in Koreatown. Hollywood Pensione far exceeded our needs and comfort over that slick modern hotel. The location is great! We walked to Hollywood Blvd., dinner and a stand-up club. The owners provide everything you could possibly need:in-room fridge, maps, dvds to watch in your room, even umbrellas in the rare case of rain! There is a living room, outdoor patio and kitchen for guests’ use. In the kitchen you’ll find many appliances to prepare your own meals, a variety of coffees, teas and juice. They provide a variety of fruit and some sort of bread, bagel or pastry as well as oatmeal.
We will be back!

Stayed at this B&B for two nights. the location was great for what we had planned to do. Not far from the Hollywood Walk of Fame area. The room was clean and very nice. The Proprietor, Gayle, was very pleasant and helpful. The parking is tight but it's free and works okay if you don't have an oversized car. Ate at a good restaurant within walking distance. the area seemed very safe. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Elvis Room

We loved our three nights here. The room is small-ish but clean and cosy, the bed was really comfortable. The kitchen and living room make it feel like your own apartment. The coffee is awesome, the muffins & fruit are plenty for breakfast and are available for late sleepers. The street is quiet & leafy but walking distance to some great bars on Franklin. The driveway is tight but it's an old place so who cares. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All three rooms look very similar in style & size

We enjoyed our stay at Hollywood Pensione. We were warned about the parking, but we were able to park our mid-size SUV just fine. Upon arrival, it was very hot outside, but luckily the room temperature was just right. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Overall, we felt that the room was a bit smaller and more outdated than it appears on the photos, but still a nice enough room.
