Good location 1 street back from the beach. Fabulous breakfast quiet fully fenced garden location. My son I I shared a room & used the communal bathrooms which were well located from our room. Parking is tight. Clean older style venue

Room Tip: book parking at the time of booking

Beautiful historic home.
We stayed in the James Peasgood Suite which was large and quiet, but bathroom definitely needs updating. We could not get internet access from this room. If I were to do it again I would book the Venice Pier Suite (with fireplace). More charm and closer to internet modem. Our room was an addition and lacked the craftsman touches. There are beautiful outdoor spaces to enjoy a glass of wine or sit to eat breakfast. Its right by the beach and a block from restaurants. Other guests were interesting and friendly. Selene at the desk was warm, welcoming and very helpful. You will not regret staying here. A true gem!

Stayed in the Peasgood Suite.
Very large room with its own bathroom.(Bathroom does need a little updating, in my opinion)
Very Quiet and private.
The property is in a primo location for eating, beaching, and people watching.
Beautifully kept gardens and outdoor lounging area on property.
Breakfast was amazing....
Joseph was the "man" -- whipping up avocado toast, eggs, and a fresh greek yogurt- fruit parfait with toasted granola.
Homemade bread and muffins - as well- gluten free if you like.
Selene' greeted us and made sure we were comfortable. Parking on site (which if you've been anywhere near the beach, is a huge bonus, albeit for a small xtra charge.
Housekeeping staff was super friendly and efficient as well.
We will be back!

There is very little if anything not to like about this place. Fantastic location, wonderful staff and comfortable rooms. We booked in a room with shared bathroom facilities with a little caution that truly proved to be groundless. The hotel provides a good retreat from the fullness of LA. Seriously don't hesitate. Book it

The location can't be beat. The history is interesting. We met a lot of international travelers who were friendly and fun to talk to. The air conditioner in our room was broken making for a very hot, sleepless first night. The staff brought in fans which helped but it was still hot. The owners very graciously reduced our bill to compensate because they air conditioner never was fixed.
The staff are extremely nice! Wonderful! And breakfast--so delicious. Excellent! But I'll stop now because I don't want people taking over my new favorite spot.
