Service was excellent. The food was okay, no issues. Fries were really good. It was kind of cold in there.

We dined here after a long day of hiking in Death Valley. Our server, Geri Lyn (sorry if I butchered the spelling) was so sweet and attentive. We both had chicken entrees which came with soup/salad, delicious fresh and hot bread, and several tasty sides. We had a table by the windows so we could see the sun setting over Mt. Whitney -- worth the price of the food alone. The food wasn't what I would call gourmet and the ambiance of the dining room is a bit lacking, so probably not the place to come if you are a hard-core foodie, but if you are looking for attentive service and plentiful portions of solid comfort food with a great view, this is the place to come in Lone Pine. Would certainly eat here again.
Don't like complaining in these days of Covid, but the soup and sandwiches we had for dinner were just not good at all.
Husband and I are twice-a-year travelers on the 395, and we stay at a local hotel, but this is the first time we’ve tried The Grill. So glad we did, it will become a regular dinner spot for us!
I had the tomato soup, battered fish and vegetables; Husband had the chicken Caesar salad. Everything fresh; the battered fish was a rich cod fillet with a dry crispy crust and a chunky tartar sauce. Tomato soup is really a pureed vegetable soup with an extra helping of tomato, but was still very satisfying. Nice wine list, excellent iced tea.
Bobby made sure everything was excellent throughout. The Grill will be a regular stop for us.
I'd rate this restaurant as the #1 dinner place. The menu at this restaurant is fairly large. There is a wide variety of meals, sandwiches, soups and dinner entrees. The pasta dishes are incredible. We had the Diablo pasta with a chipotle cream sauce - just tremendous. Had an order of linguine with bolognese sauce too - just great. Wait staff is attentive. There are options of dining in, on the patio or completely outside. Good wine menu
