Description: Left Bank is an authentic Parisian-style brasserie located in the historic Blue Rock Inn in charming downtown Larkspur. Built in 1895 during the railroad era, The Blue Rock Inn was a popular weekend destination for San Franciscans to come dance and picnic under the stars. Open since 1994, Left Bank continues to be a destination for folks from all over the Bay Area to enjoy a casual snack on the sunny terrace, a glass of wine or hand crafted cocktail at the lively bar, or an elegant dining experience near the fireplace. At Left Bank, you are sure to capture the true feeling of the Rive Gauche in Paris. Nineteen years of working with local organic farms allows us to bring you the best seasonal ingredients available. Chef de Cuisine Fabrice Marcon offers an often changing, French brasserie menu of hearty, rustic, and authentic dishes featuring a diverse selection of natural meats, sustainable seafood, fresh local vegetables, salads and sumptuous desserts.

Loved the Steak Frites when we were in Paris -- steak and fries, but the fries are the crispiest fries ever. Some people consider this to be the national dish of France. We were thrilled to see steak frites on the menu in Larkspur, (one of many excellent entree options), and it was every bit as good as what we had in France. Great on the taste buds, and pleasing to the memory banks as well. The restaurant is always lovely, the staff friendly and professional. We arrived early and were seated immediately. Loved the flight of wine, too. What's not to like?

The service was fair to poor. We were there with a reservation for a large party. They were not ready for us and asked us to stay outside. When we entered the food for the buffet was not ready. We had to ask for coffee. Once offered, it only showed up for a few people. Now that I have hit the bad spots, lets get on to the good
The good far outweighs the bad. The food was amazing. The place is clean. It is located in a quaint little area., On the way out we passed tables of people who came in as regular customers. All of the food on their tables looked and smelled absolutely amazing. I would return if I lived close by.

We stopped in for appetizers before heading to The Lark for a movie. The place is lively, but not loud. There's lots of outdoor seating. We were quickly attended to and received our food promptly, Had a really good mushroom torte and well priced 1/2 carafe pino gris. Not a cheap place, but would definitely visit again and recommend.

We went back to Left Bank the other night for a birthday dinner. The service and setting was excellent as always. We were surprised at the food though. The kitchen was definitely having a bad night. We sent back the escargot because it was still cool. I sent back a steak because "warm and pink in the middle" came back seared on the outside and raw in the middle. I hope they fix the kitchen because the rest is great. The hamburger was great.
