We ate breakfast at C’est La Vie during Labor Day weekend. We sat on the patio overlooking the beach. It was busy however the service was top notch. I had crepes and my husband had French toast. We felt the meal was one of the more affordable meals we had while in Laguna.

This place is popular with tourists because of the patio. The food is average and the servers are professional but otherwise this place is poorly run and managed.

First, there is a seat yourself policy and it seems there are no designated sections for the servers. This means tables are not wiped down in a timely manner and you have to wave someone down to get service. We were confused because the bus boy got our drinks, a waiter was helping the table next to us, and a third waiter came to help us.

What is also strange is that the prices on the menu are quite high, although you walk past a bakery counter when you come in that serves the same items at half the price they are on the menu.

The bakery menu lists all the coffee drinks, but they’re not on the full menu. A cup of regular coffee is $5! The bakery also has pictures of really yummy looking taco cone crepes, but they don’t sell them. Huh?

Our server was very nice and professional despite the disorganized chaos of the rest of the place. The bartender looked like he needed more help, dirty glasses were stacking up all over the bar.

In sum, decent atmosphere, ok food, nice service, but way overpriced and disorganized. There are many better French options in Laguna beach.

Stopped in this restaurant our first day in town. Had a seat out on their balcony and looked out at a beautiful view. Service was excellent and our food was delicious. They offered many tempting desserts too.
