Upside: Excellent large room (#410) with kitchen & dining table facing the ocean away from the street. Good bed. Loved going to sleep and waking up hearing ocean. Loved sitting on our private patio overlooking the ocean and watching beginner surf boarders. Pleasant walk down from resort to lovely beach. Can walk forever on beach and many accesses to street.
Downside: wifi cut out after one minute in room but worked just outside the room and in the office. No help from the office staff. Continental breakfast like cheap hotel. Expected better for price of rooms. Pool faces street and has glass so people walking right by you looking in--no privacy so did not use pool.
However, pluses outweigh minuses and we would come again.

Room Tip: Ocean view with patio. # 410 was good 'cept wifi. This room was away from main street so quiet.

Very nice place to stay in Laguna. Wife and I stayed here for two nights. We would definitely go back for a stay the next time we visit, Staff very attentive. Breakfast that is included is a very nice touch.

This place is exactly as advertised. A 3 star property in a 5 star location.
You can't beat the views and the walking distance from downtown Laguna Beach. If you like funk then this place is for you, if not go somewhere else. The staff on the front desk in the evening was terrific, friendly and full of suggestions and help. This staff in the morning was indifferent at best and probably closer to just plain rude.

The grounds we kept up very well so also a big shout out to that staff and they are doing a great job.

Room Tip: The two lower rooms on the left side (looking out at the ocean) are secluded fromt he rest of the hotel. Nice views as well.

First let me say that if you are an looking for "authentic" Laguna Beach experience... THIS IS IT! It's not going to be 5 star. It's on the water, with salt air so stuff corrodes, it's moist so things get damp, it's THE BEACH, if you leave the doors open like you should, bugs come in!. Do not expect perfection, what you will get are SUPER nice owners and staff, an incredible view, a fun pool, with lots of interesting history. If you're looking to be hermetically sealed up in a perfectly clean room, move on... you won't get what this place is all about.

We booked the room that you see on the website with the kitchen which was super convenient because it can get pricey to eat out all the time. The room was very clean and spacious. The staff was so accommodating, we were looking for a place to have a small, impromptu gathering for my son's birthday. It was Mother's Day weekend so everything was booked. The staff helped me by letting us use their grassy patio area overlooking the ocean, brought me a few folding tables for food and allowed us to use the patio tables and chairs around. It was perfect.

The location is perfect for walking to town. The views are to die for with the sand right below you.

We loved it so much that we booked the private residence beach house for a week at Christmas.

yes its true, the room we stayed in was quite basic and a bit dingy, but for the price right on the beach, you really cant beat it. The room for us is just a place to sleep at night, we spent all our time right on the beautiful beach, and exploring around the town. There are many great restaurants, shops and a grocery store right within walking distance, and about a 30 min drive to Disney Land. We really liked that you can rent boogie boards right from the hotel, my family really had a great time here we will be back!
