What a cute little cafe in a storefront mini mart, we loved our chicken fried steak sandwiches and mojo's. Yummy. Wish we were not just traveling through because we would have loved to try their breakfast. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

We, too, had our concerns about a restaurant in a fast mart. However, the grilled salmon we ordered was incredibly fresh and beautifully cooked on the grill. The samples of smoked salmon they make were the best we've ever eaten--and we've eaten a lot. In addition, the quiet friendliness of all the staff completely won us over. Really delicious, and actually fun to eat in such a down home place!

I had heard great things about this place and after a hike in Redwood NP we gave it a shot. We had the chicken fried steak sandwich with jo-jos and it was excellent! They also had eight beers on tap. The employees are really nice and friendly and the prices aren't bad either.

We stayed in one of the cabins behind the store and after reading all the reviews decided to have dinner here. What a treat. My husband and I shared the 16oz rib eye steak with rosemary potatoes & coleslaw. The steak was cooked perfectly for us (medium rare), our hats off to Willie the cook, and the potatoes were a delight. I had a very generous glass of Malbec wine with dinner. We finished out our meal with blackberry cobbler ala mode. Worth every single calorie. Cindy was our server and was very friendly and helpful. Another couple there shared a hamburger that was huge and they said was delicious. We had breakfast there the next morning and everything was just as good as the night before. Would highly recommend.

The cafe now has a sign, and is not so hard to find, although we still had to pay attention in order not to drive on by. It's a little way south of Trees of Mystery, on the east side of the highway.

We saw immediately that the portions of other diners were quite large, and we opted to share one order of salmon. It was as fresh as we've ever had, and perfectly cooked. The fried potatoes were tender and almost sweet, and the cole slaw was also very fresh, and freshly dressed as well.

We finished with berry cobbler, which was as delicious as the main meal.

Sharon, the proprietor, waited on us personally, and she is a really lovely person. By the time we left, we felt as though we'd made a new friend.

We recommend "A Good Place to Eat" most highly, and shall return when we are in the vicinity for sure.
