This rustic restaurant is located just above the lake and we tried it for breakfast. It was great. Bisects and gravy were excellent. Also the omelets with super hash browns. Dogs are permitted on the outside parch overlooking the lake.

Sorry to say I would rate this as average but the high prices bump it to poor for me. Some items seemed made the day before and reheated in the microwave, which made the crust the on the pot pie chewy and the potato skins dry and chewy. The fish and chips, and catfish, are obviously from a freezer bag from some distributor. Put enough Tapatio on the chili burger and it was ok. Too bad I know they could do much better with a few changes.

It's wonderful to dine at this lake front restaurant. The menu is simple and whatever you order it's prepared with the utmost flavor of a home cooked meal. I am very happy and satisfied.

Food was nicely prepared, waitress was friendly. Toast was excellent - seemed like home made bread. Nice view of the lake and interesting old photos on the walls.

We were on a hiking/camping trip without an itinerary this past week in Southern California. Our first stop was Anza Borrego and it was very hot. We went past this little restaurant on the way back and decided to stop. We ended up staying in the area for another day, hiking around Cuyamaca State Park and camping. We ate three times total at the restaurant instead of cooking in a camp. It fueled us well. We had fish tacos, omelets and carnitas. It was all very delicious. But even better, it was always served with a smile. Thank you Dolores for your kindness and hospitality while we were passing through the area! Hope to be back soon!
