Great place to eat in Julian! Friendly service, great food, and one of the few places open after 5pm. Would definitely go back.

Nice casual country kitchen, with an interesting dining room. The food is heavy, very filling and very heavy. The pumpkin bread was great, but was like a brick. The portions were massive. Breakfast potatoes, excellent but a TON! You certainly get your money's worth. In retrospect, our party of 6 could have ordered two breakfast entrees and split them all. Be prepared for a lot of religious iconography on the walls and on the menu.

We had a groupon for this place and found it to be worth it. They had a new item on the menu: BLA--bacon, lettuce and apple! Very unique and tasty. Of course, we had to try the apple pie. Lots of cinnamom with a flaky crust. You can also get it with a crumb crust.

Love the menu with the history of the location but could have done without the religious overtone in the history and the music in the restaurant.

Ready to call it a day, we stopped in and got the hot roast beef plate with garlic mashed potatoes. Like sitting down to one of your grandmother's Sunday dinners...

The first thing you notice when you walk in is that the old west got sick all over this place, and that includes the Outhouse (bathroom...indoors, not an actual outhouse, LOL!)! The entire restaurant is decorated in an overdone western style...but don't let that put you off! The food here is great and the service was very good, too. I ate alone for lunch on Saturday when they were very busy and my waitress treated me just as well as any of her larger parties. I ordered the chicken pie turnover, which is touted as their house specialty. It was great! Big chucks of chicken in a flaky crust smothered in gravy...with fries and slaw! Make sure you save room for their apple pie, which is obviously what the town is known for. This place is worth visiting.
